I am constantly on the look-out for free and good places to bring my kids to. Most of the time, the most fun places are those that are offered free of charge. One such place is the Marina Barrage.
My kids absolutely love this place. It’s got a large water play area and if I let them, they will be in the waters the whole day. The weather was super hot when we went last weekend, and I had to pull the kids out before they were fried. Thankfully, the cool waters brought down the temperature considerably. Still, just barely 30mins under the sun, they already got 3 tones darker. Now, I’ve got two little blackies at home (Much to the dis-delight of my MIL =P)!
I used to jeer at parents who dress their kids in swimsuits at such waterplay areas, but I have become one such parent myself. =P
My kids who used to be afraid of splashing waters now would let themselves been splashed voluntarily!
On such a hot day, I was so tempted to jump in myself. =P
Half of the water pool is under shelter and that’s where most of the parents take refuge at. Too bad most kids would venture out to the area under the blazing sun instead. They like to be toasted!
Really glad that the Singapore government has built many of such public areas for children to have fun in. It doesn’t take much to thrill the kids really, and as parents, we are just glad there are many such options available for us in Singapore. =)
Haha, just look at her! Such a candid but happy expression.
This whole wall of fountain-like flowing water is another lot of fun for the kids. I was actually quite surprised Joey was not scared at all!
In fact, she really enjoyed standing there and let the water pound down on her.
As expected, the girls had a great time that afternoon. =)
Marina Barrage rocks!
