Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel’s Azur offered an amazing spread for Easter Brunch buffet during the Easter season this year, and we were so happy to be invited to try it as a family! It was a blessing no less, because it happened to be Joey’s birthday as well, and it was such a treat for us all!
Joey is six this year, and this is the first year I experienced her relentless chanting of ‘Today is my birthday’. Everywhere she went, she told people her ‘overrated secret’ – “Today is my birthday!” She was on an adrenaline high the whole day and demanded to be treated like a queen simply because ‘Today is my birthday, ok?’. Needless to say, she was excited when we told her we were going to celebrate her birthday with a buffet at the hotel. Haha!
I’m excited to show you the spread at the Brunch Buffet, which was magnificent to say the least. Plus, with the cute decorations everywhere, one could really indulge in the magic and joy of the Easter season!
An Easter bunny cake with carrot candies was the centrepiece, and attracted our attention immediately.
Baby Jayne was intrigued by the Easter chocolate eggs decorations everywhere, I had to tell her not to remove them! As we arrived just before the brunch buffet started, I went around snapping. Everything was beautifully arranged, and it felt like such a waste that we had to ‘destroy’ the beauty of it by tucking in. (But of course, who can resist such glorious food?!)
Let’s take a look around the buffet spread! The dessert selections were amazing – You get ice-cream, cakes, nonya kueys, macaroons, chocolate fondue fountain, donuts… I get happy just looking at how pretty they are!
Salads!
Easter eggs!!! =D
This had got to be hubby’s favourite section – Fresh seafood of lobsters, prawns, crabs, mussels.. Everything tasted so amazingly fresh and sweet. Too sumptuous!
Breads & Cheese station. So many different kinds to choose from.
Signature festive item: Thyme Rubbed Prime Rib-eye served with Roasted Garlic Mushroom Jus
Freshly-made waffles served with all kinds of fruits like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and yummy jams of all kinds. It was so good I squeezed two pieces into my stomach even after I was so full from the meal.
Roasted meats station. The roasted pork was so crispy. YUMS.
And how can we miss the Easter Hot Cross Buns??? It was my first time trying a hot cross bun, and it had the aroma of cinnamon and spices! =)
The lovely folks who made me my lovely ham-mushroom-cheese omelettes that both my kids and I loved. =)
And there were lots of other signature dishes like Devil’s Egg in Chicken Curry, Classic Shepherd’s Pie, Eefu Noodles, chicken rice, nonya assam fish, braised vegetables with wolfberries in superior stock that completely won me & my tummy over. I’m sure you’d understand this – I was too busy feasting and had no time taking photographs of them. Try imagining.
Anyway, while the highlight of the day for us was the delicious brunch buffet spread, for Joey & Jayne, it had to be the kids’ activities specially arranged as part of the Easter celebration. The children gathered in a pub right outside the restaurant and there was screening of cartoons for them, and also fun activities like face painting and stencil art painting.
Look at the hosts all face painted! =D
Joey wanted to have butterflies painted on her hands!
And the much-anticipated Easter Egg Hunt! The kids were given a basket and told to search for Easter eggs hidden everywhere within the pub! The daddies & mummies were told not to help and can only take photographs. But…. who’s following the rules??! =P Everyone just joined in the fun in the end.
The kids very quickly found all the hidden eggs, and my girls found a mega HUGE egg (with the help of daddy who had a much higher view than most)! Inside was lots of candies & chocolates! Hee hee!
The kids could bring home all the easter eggs & candies they found! =D It was my first Easter Egg Hunt and it was fun! Hahaha..
We left the restaurant with our bunny ears, furry bow tie and many balloons. So much fun celebrating Easter-cum-Joey’s birthday! =)
Balloons always make my girls happy. Just look at the glee on their faces.
Thank you Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel for a great afternoon of fun!
