I tweeted yesterday morning, "Surreal. Registering her for Primary 1 today!"
I thought I would feel nervous about it, but turned out, the only emotion I could feel was one of surrealism. It seriously didn't feel that long ago when I gave birth to this cutest little thing I've even seen in my life, and excuse me, she's going to Primary One next year??!!!
I can hardly believe it.
It is a good thing that we stay near to Papa Isaiah's alma mater, so it was long decided that we would enrol Joey into that school so that we can skip all the Parent Volunteering business or go through a nerve-wreaking balloting process. Even though the school is not a top school in Singapore, it is one of the best in our vicinity. Anyway, we've never been those kind of parents who want our kids to go to a famous Primary School, so we are happy with the choice.
Bright & early in the morning, we took the bus to Joey's school-to-be. She's carrying Papa Isaiah's report book! That's something I can never understand - I need to produce proof that my kid is eligible for registration in the Phase 2A-2! Doesn't the school system have records of Papa Isaiah studying there before??
As expected, there was no crowd at all at the school. There was a class having PE lessons, and Joey watched them with much interest. While waiting for our turn, we heard the bell ring which marked the end of a period. Ahhhhh.... Soon, it'd be Joey's turn to experience that kind of life!
I can feel that Joey's looking forward to starting a new life in this school. She's curious about everything as she walked around. I pray this kind of enthusiasm and excitement would last her for a very long time. =P
We've anticipated the P1 Registration for a long time, but now that we're at this stage, we've found it to be a very uneventful, almost boring. I actually feel more excited for my other friends who would be registering as a Parent Volunteer or as one who lives within 1 km from school. Not that I wanna be in their shoes though. =P
Everything's good about the school, but I have one complaint - The school uniform is really ugly.
Yes, I'm superficial like that.
