When My Kids Are Not With Me...

.... I hang out with other people's kids.

Look how handsome and charming this little boy is. He is my friend's son who's not even two years old yet. This is the most adorable age, in my opinion. They mumble and mutter stuffs you struggle to understand, and their faces are full of funny expressions all the time.

I went for a birthday lunch with some friends, and one of my friends brought her son along. All parents know that bringing kids out to a gathering means you spend 80% of the time entertaining and feeding your own kids that you miss out most of the conversations that take place at the gathering. And so, with a heart full of compassion, I decided that I could help out my friend there a little. Turned out, this little charmer totally won me over instead.

Apparently, as long as there's food within his reach, he would sit still and not threaten to jump out of the high chair. Ahhh... I seem to recall my kids had this period too in their lives, but of course, that phase is no where in sight now. I miss my kids when they were younger! True, a lot more troublesome and super a lot of stuffs to lug out wherever I go, but so adorable!! Now, my kids are still adorable, but a different kind of adorable. You know what I mean.

By the way, I know what you are thinking. NO, I'm NOT going to have another kid just to go through this cute and adorable stage again, because THOSE TOO WILL PASS. So, thank you very much, but no thanks. I may be wavered but I am not insane.

I'm contented enough to be entertained by kids of my friends. After all, don't we all know that other people's kids are always adorable and never naughty?? After being worn out from playing with them, they go home to their parents at the end of the day. And I go back to my still-adorable-but-not-so-small kids. I get my dosage of adorableness and also sane reality. Perfect.

By the way,it doesn't make sense if my blog does not have a weekly appearance of gorgeous food. After all, I am such a foodie! The birthday lunch was at Tony Romas. The last time I dined there, which was also the one and only time, was more than 10 years ago! =X I wonder why I didn't go back any sooner! The food was yums!

Fried Calamari Caesar Salad. 'Nuff said.

Potato skins with bacon bits. Always a delight.

Mixed Grill Combo - Chicken & Ribs

Some really expensive Ocean Platter with fish, prawns, crab sticks, potato salad, corns, calamari... ($58.. what were we thinking?!)

Don't know what dish this is, but it's some kind of crispy pancakes with fillings.

Have a goody good weekend, folks! My weekend's already started because I'm having WORK ZERO at work today. The name tells you a lot about what we're doing! Ciaos!
