My August In Food Pictures

Everyone knows that I love to eat. I eat to de-stress. I eat when I am bored. I eat when I'm happy. I eat when I am unhappy. Basically, eating is a very comforting act for me. Strangely though, while I am always on the lookout for good eats, I have very low expectations for quality of food. I find most food nice. =P Last month, I had some really nice food with different ones, and I thought the photos make a lovely blog post for the weekend. :)

ISLAMIC RESTAURANT
745 North Bridge Road

They serve one of the best Nasi Bryani in Singapore, in my opinion.

The restaurant has been around for a very long time, and on the walls are lots of photographs of famous celebrities and politicians who dined there before.

The Nasi Bryani's rice is thin and well-spiced, and the chicken portion is huge. A plate like this costs about $8.50.

I usually order Naan along with my meal. Always freshly made and warm. :)

Bandung! Refreshing.

RAMEN CHAMPION
65 Airport Boulevard
#B2-58 Terminal 3
Singapore Changi Airport
Singapore 819663

Similar to Marche format, there are several stalls inside the restaurant, but they all sell ramen. :) Choose your ramen from the stall you want, pass them your card to be scanned, and you can pay at the end of the meal before you exit the restaurant. You'll be given an electronic bell which will light up and ring when your ramen is ready to be collected. A little excitement for my kids. :)

The ramen are all pretty huge in portion with lots of ingredients. Mine was a spicy ramen with fried chicken, and it was quite yummy. :) Prices range from $12 to $20 per bowl generally.

BLU JAZ CAFE
11 Bali Lane, Singapore 189848

Had lunch alone at this cafe one afternoon. Ordered a simple lunch of Seafood Aglio Olio and iced latte. Me-time is so awesome, as always. :)

BBQ GALORE AT FRIEND'S HOUSE

Always a delight to have BBQ dinner at this friend's house because it's cosy, delicious (usually marinated by his mum for us!), and we don't have to lift a finger to do any barbeque at all (His helpers do all the BBQ for us!). Photos of BBQ food always makes me happy. =D

YI JIA SOUTH VILLAGE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT
550-552 MacPherson Road

We went searching for this restaurant because of strong recommendations from many friends. This place supposedly serves up the best salted egg yolk crabs in Singapore at very reasonable prices. Thank God I made a reservation, because the place was packed at dinnertime!

Very good promotion for Sri Lanka crabs! =)

And was the food as good as claimed by my friends. I have to say, I was VERY HAPPY with our food! Everything tasted awesome! All these are must-orders if you are planning to go! (Indicated with stars. The more, the yummier!)

Salted Egg Yolk Crabs*****

The crabs were so delicious my kids kept eating non-stop! But such a delicacy cannot be eaten too frequently because of the high cholesterol! Nevertheless, it was really the best I've ever eaten. We also ordered fried ice-cream to try at the end of the meal. Really quite special though I wish it's freshly fried and hot. The one that was served was cold though still crispy. For 6 dishes and 1 dessert, our bill came up to slightly less than $100. Really worth it!
