I wonder how many of you remember Sharity the Charity Elephant? If you do, you are most probably in the same era as me. =P I remember as a kid, I used to adore the pink cute elephant so much, I'd write a letter to her every month. What keeps me going is the fact that Sharity the Charity Elephant actually replies my letters!
Granted, now that I'm grown up, I know it's not exactly Sharity who replied me, but someone sitting in a corporate office churning out duplicate letters to all the little kids who wrote letters in. But as a kid, I remembered feeling very elated every time I received a reply from Sharity. It didn't matter that those were typewritten letters and did not answer the questions I asked in my previous letters. I was just happy that I got any reply at all!
And so, sometime two weeks ago, when I brought Joey with me to office (it was her school holidays, so I thought it'd be fun to let her hang around in office!), I asked her to write a letter to her favourite Disney Princess! I had heard from somewhere that if a kid writes a letter to any of the Disney Princesses, the 'Princess' will mail back a poster with all the Disney princesses and their autographs! Sounds really cool, isn't it??
I dared not raise her hopes too high, so I did prepare her heart that the princess may or may not reply. But I also told her that we never know until we try. So she decided to write a letter to Princess Ariel, the mermaid!
Adui..... She wished her Good Luck at the end even, can faint. =.=
Then I printed out a colouring sheet of Princess Ariel, and she coloured it to be mailed to her together with the letter. =D We then went to the Post Office, bought a stamp and mailed the letter off to the USA together.
And now, the wait begins. Fingers crossed, a reply will come.
