Sunway Lost World of Tambun Ipoh–Glamping

Media Review

Our family holiday to Ipoh was made more interesting because we opted to stay one night in a tent. Most families would choose hotels over camping anytime but since my kids are not that little anymore, I thought it would be fun to just ‘rough it out’ for a night. Turned out, it was not as rough as I thought – the glamping experience was fun! We arrived at Sunway Lost World of Tambun in the morning and a buggy brought us from the theme park entrance to where the glamping area was. Along the way, we had a sneak peek of the fun that would await us the day ahead. The kids couldn’t wait to get started! More about the theme park in my subsequent posts. :)

Glamp Tents

And here’s our tent for 5 people! Comes with a shelter and a bench-table outside the tent with grass carpeting. Looks pretty enough for me, especially with the lake and greenery all around us.

Here’s what our tent looked like on the inside: Yes, there were beds! One double bed (where my kids slept with my mother-in-law) and two single beds on the opposite end. Every tent sleeps maximum of 5 pax. We’ve had air-conditioning included for our stay as well, and it kept the whole tent really cool during the day. If you intend to spend the whole day out and be back at the tent only at night, you can go without the air-conditioning in my opinion.

You would find a simple clothes hanger, refrigerator and a fan inside the tent as well.

Simple toiletries and bottled water, along with bath towels were provided complimentary as well.

You would also be given a number lock to keep your tent secured when you are away from it. In any case, staff would always be at the glamping grounds to make sure there were no strangers loitering around and to attend to the needs of the glampers.

The whole glamping area was not super huge, but there were tents scattered all around. Of course, don’t expect in-suite bathrooms in your tents (Unless your tents are Harry-Potter style which expands once you enter them =P), so everyone has to bathe & use the toilets in the common bathroom areas. Other than that, the tents are pretty self-sufficient, I would say! I love the lush surroundings – Made me feel so relaxed and happy.

There are new water chalets being built at the Glamping area as well and those come with attached bathrooms, so if that’s important to you, you can book them for your next stay!

Free Activities

The glampers get to play flying fox as well as kayaking for free, so why not?? We had tons of fun doing those activities on the morning before we checked out of glamping. Plus, the staff were all so helpful and fun-loving!

Truth be told, it looked pretty scary up there, haha! But the flying part was fun and not scary at all! The kids went many rounds before agreeing to stop!

The kayaking was fun too – We had a leisure time on the lake!

Barbecue Dinner

Camping is hardly complete without a BBQ, right? So we opted for BBQ set dinner and this was delivered to us, with the BBQ all set up for us. All we needed to do was to do the barbecuing ourselves, but that really was the fun part of it. It wouldn’t be half as fun if the staff did all the work for us!

The food was delicious and we couldn’t finish the portion for 5 pax!

Apart from the glamping, guests to Sunway Lost World of Tambun can also choose to stay in their Lost World Hotel located right outside the theme park. But I would totally recommend glamping as a unique and interesting experience for a family holiday if your kids are okay with ‘rustic’ living. I personally enjoyed the experience very much!

Thanks, Sunway Lost World of Tambun for making all the arrangements! We had a great glamping experience that we would remember for a long, long time! =D Stay tuned for my upcoming posts on our entire experience at Sunway Lost World of Tambun!
