Elmo!

Watched Sesame Street with Joey today. Even I think Elmo is entertaining... keke... I even brought Joey her Elmo to watch together with her.

Joey's pretty amused by the show. I was very tickled by the part where the Count Dracula went on a date with a nice lady but kept counting the flowers on her dress, the dogs that went past them... hahaha... so silly..

Then I told her I want to take a photo of her & Elmo, and she posed for me. Hee...

@ Home With Joey

Spent a whole day rotting at home today. Well, not exactly rotting, since I finished watching the entire drama series - Devil Beside Me. I watched it previously on YouTube, but missed out alot of parts, so borrowed the whole series from Kat & I spent the whole day drooling over the charming He Jun Xiang! weee weee!

Oh, and of course, I spent the whole day with baby Joey. This is her new fav toy in the house currently. A wagon full of lego bricks!

Pst Aries' kid has an extra set, so he gave one to Joey. She loves pulling it around & emptying the wagon of its lego bricks. keke...

Baby Joey has a few smellies, and this one of it. She's very funny. Whenever they are hanging to dry on the racks, she would stare up at them and smile at them. Heee.. they're so very important to her, especially now that we have just weaned her off her pacifier. It's now her only prized possession!

Talking about weaning her off her pacifier, it's been a not-so-easy weekend, but still it was not as bad as I thought. It's harder to get her to fall asleep now, naturally. And she stirs more frequently during her sleep, cos previously when she stirs, she would immediately suck on her pacifier, now no more, she can only cry. Less sense of security, so she stirs frequently in her sleep. Poor thing, but I guess it's all for the better future.

Another fav toy of all time for her is her ball! She loves to kick the ball like soccer players do. I think it's Isaiah's genes in her, that's why. And so, one of her first few words is 'BALL'. When she wants us to get her the ball, she would go 'ball, ball'. When we're out shopping & she sees balloons or balls on sale, she would go 'ball.... ball..' too. Haa...

And oh ya, did I mention she likes squatting too?? Don't you think she has a nice squatting posture? :)

I love my baby Joey!

Stylo Mylo

Joey naturally looks good with caps. A pity, she hates to wear them. Everytime we put it on, she would pull it off within 5 seconds. Nevertheless, we still keep trying. Hopefully, one day, she would accept it.

Isaiah bought a new snowcap, and I think Joey looks really cute in it!!!

Father & daughter look really alike hor?? Both so stylo mylo.. heee...

The Doll

My mum bought a doll for Joey when she went to China last year. I must say, the exterior looks super cheena, but it's actually quite interesting.

The doll kicks her legs up & down and sings the A,B,C song (in mandarin of course and the song is made up of incomprehensible words). When you flip the page over in her book, she will start to read off the words on the page one by one - Cat! Dog! Lion! So cute right? Haha...

And so, it's no surprise that Joey likes this doll. She is amused especially with the kicking of her legs and she would get to her feet & dance when the doll starts to sing.

As you can, Daddy Isaiah loves the toy too.

He loves imitating the doll.......... sigh.....

Destroyed

Isaiah's Multiply username is DESTROYER.

Joey has inherited that characteristic, sadly.

She loves fiddling with my laptop. I am not surprised, since my Dell laptop is so sleek & nice.

Looks like a typical laptop right? But take a closer look!

SHE TOOK OUT ONE OF THE KEYS ON MY KEYBOARD! ahhhhh....

I sound like a hysterical whinny old woman. Hmmpphh!

If you ask Isaiah, he would testify that I spent no less than an hour trying to fix that key back to no avail. I think something inside is broken. Sobs. The saddest thing of all is the key that she broke is the FULL-STOP key! Of all keys, she broke the full-stop key??! I need to hit on it like every 5 words??!!! This is SO not happening to me. I refuse to believe it.

I am very nervous because my IT colleague is going round the entire office, upgrading our email server, and he is so going to freak out when he sees my broken keyboard! Will he confiscate my laptop & throw me a desktop instead??? Will he punish me by giving me an ancient old computer that takes 5 hours to start up??!!!  Will he ask me to pay for a new keyboard??!! Gosh... I can already see my hundred-dollar note flying away on its wings.

God help me.

(opps. I just realised that my IT colleague is also my multiply contact. He may even see this post before he reaches my laptop.)

Joey, The ‘I’ Girl

Joey is very 'I'. I am sure when she grows up, she will have lots of friends.

When we're out and in the MRT, she would wave at everyone around us, tug at their sleeves utter an 'AH' to them, and then smile sweetly. ANYONE would smile back at her in response lor...

In the office, when I bring her out of the nursery at mid-day to play with my colleagues, she would walk from table to table. She especially likes wenkai's table because of his calculator and he would always let her sit on his lap & play with his laptop. She also likes Lixia cos she showed her the Barney website before and she's got teddy bears and interesting toys on her table which of course attracts her attention. Nick is another of her favorite, maybe he looks like a teddy. =X

Remember when she was admitted into hospital last week? (Gosh! It was only last week??? Felt like so long ago!) When she was in the hospital, she literally walked through all the nearby wards and went to say 'hi' to all the little patients and their parents. I remember one particular ward very clearly. Somehow, the ward looked very dull & dark & sad. But the moment Joey walked in and waved to everyone and walked right into the room, the room seemed to brighten up all of a sudden and many of them started laughing & waving back at her. She was really like a sunshine bringing hope into that room! kekeke... maybe she can be a doctor or nurse someday.

It's good that she is such a friendly baby. She smiles at most of the people around her and is always playful. She brightens up my days! :)

The Wrapper

Guess what is Joey hiding under her little cloth?

She has this (weird) habit of liking to wrap things with her cloth. She would wrap anything she sees and then put it into her mouth to chew. I must comment her for her smartness cos she knows it's less dirty if she wraps the thing up in her cloth first before chewing on it. Still, overall, it's quite gross & bo liao. Check out her cloth at the end of the day. Soaked with saliva. The smell is very 'heavenly' (Read: Makes u wish u die immediately & go to heaven).

And so, today, it's her 123 book!

I am not complaining because she was so obedient today on the ride in MRT. We kept playing the 'wrapping' game over & over again. She would pass me her cloth & book, and I would dutifully wrap it up nicely, tuck in the corners & pass it back to her. She would then gleefully take the wrapped book from me and chew on it. The little game happened like 10+ times. I was glad it took her attention away for the entire trip, cos sometimes when she gets bored, she would do the screaming act. Scary.

Look how happy she is with her wrapped book.

Funny girl, I have eh?

Wild At Heart

How to get angry at such an adorable face?

Joey is wild at heart, it seems. It used to be that she would be happy & contented staying in the office nursery the whole day till I bring her out again at the end of the day. But recently, she has been fussing over getting out of the gates & going out to play. She would keep whining & whining and keep banging at the little door, wanting to get out. Whenever some uncle or auntie try to play with her by asking her if she wants to go look for mummy, she will immediately hold the uncle or auntie's hand & urge them to bring her out. The moment the doors are open, she would literally run & laugh & scream all at the same time. Extremely excited. Then when we bring her back to the nursery, she would kick & scream & cry like crazy. Aiyo.. headache leh!

And she has got such a temper! No longer will she just cry & whine, but she would scream & screech just to get her point across. When I say she screams, she REALLY screams. All the adults are amazed at the high-pitchness of her tone! So you can imagine how embarrassed I am when she does the screaming act on me in public especially in the MRT. Still, I got to keep my cool and not be overly agitated by her behaviour, otherwise she would do it even more in future! Sigh....

Still, how to get angry at such a cute girl??!!! aiyo!

A Sweet Thing

My baby Joey occasionally does something that is very very sweet.

She would be doing her usual KLKK act and walk around the whole house from room to room. I would be working on my laptop or watching TV in the living room as usual too. Then, she would come over to me and give me a big wet smoochy kiss! Right after the kiss, she would continue her KLKK act again. Hahaha...

So very sweet right?

awwww..... :)

Our Weekend

It has been a busy but fulfilling weekend. Saturday night brought Joey to the airport to fetch my mother in law cos she was coming back from Korea. Because she took Korean airlines, there were many Koreans at the arrival hall waiting to fetch Koreans. There were many korean kids running around and Joey really looked like one of them! haha...

Some kind soul gave Joey a small pink balloon and she went chasing after the balloon and entertained herself... kekee...

Then on Sunday morning, we went to church. Look who Joey met in church!

Dylan! Isn't he such a handsome boy??! Big eyes and dimples! =D

Too bad Joey doesn't look compatible with him, cos she is bigger size than him... Dylan is only 3 days younger than her, but she is obviously bigger size. Heee... Never mind, they can be good friends then.... :)

One of Joey's favorite pastime in the staff room is to pull out all the mineral water bottles from the storage cupboard. It used to be pretty amusing seeing her do that. But now, I got to keep scolding her to make her stop it!

Her Obsession With Bags

Joey is in every sense a girl.

She loves accessories - bracelets, necklaces, rings. She loves makeup - lipstick, eyeshadow, foundation. Most of all, she loves bags - handbags, haversacks, wallets. If she sees any of these, she would surely reach for them.

Here she is....

Ransacking my bag...

She'd carry my bag at times, thinking she is very stylo...

She loves my wallet most of all. She would take out all the coins, taxi receipts, dollar notes, photographs....

Girls!!!

Things That Baby Joey Loves

Joey loves 2 things very very much. Everytime she sees them, she would literally go crazy. Scream & wave & struggle just to make us bring her towards them.

First up, she loves KIDDY RIDES!

All kinds of kiddy rides, no matter whether they look old or new, she just wants to sit in them. I really don't mind the 20-cent rides. But imagine if each ride is $1 or $2??!! It can burn a hole in my pocket, you know. Since she would not want to leave until she's ridden at least 3 times.

This is one of the kiddy rides at Causeway Point. She was sitting in her stroller when we went past it. I was secretly hoping she would not see it, but nothing escapes her eyes, it seems. Especially something so colourful.

The 2nd thing she loves are PLAYGROUNDS!

Brought her to the playground today, thinking of letting her sweat it out after staying indoors for a few days. She really did sweat it out! The moment we reached, she started to climb any platform she can find.

Good to sweat it out! :)
