Not A Bento

During this 3-week break from work, I don't think I will be making any bentos. In the meantime, I still cook for Joey everyday, so this is her meal today!

Added quite alot of ingredients in the soup today. There's silken tofu, broccoli, baby corn, baby carrots and chicken thigh meat. The result? A very nice and sweet soup. =)

As a side dish, I steamed an egg in my multi-tier steamer. Joey loves eggs.

So easy to keep a kid happy.. =D

Happy Birthday Papa Isaiah!

Today is Papa Isaiah's birthday!

Last night at 11.30pm, some dear friends came over to our place and surprised Isaiah with a lovely candlelit cake!

How very blessed to have friends like them who makes a difference in our lives. =)

Papa Isaiah Is Going 33!

Papa Isaiah's birthday is approaching, so tonight we went for a family dinner. My MIL's treat at Crystal Jade! =)

After our zoo trip, we went back home to change before heading to Causeway Point.. Baby Joey was still energetic.. she was literally skipping and swaying on her way there... She was skipping so much that I couldn't even get a decent photo of her. Hehe..

Doesn't this look like a pretty tango pose? Haha..

Happily eating away...

Check out our food!!

Stewed chicken in chinese wine

Crispy skin duck

Stir fried veggies

Braised beancurd

Black pepper beef cubes

Today Is Zoo Day!

We finally made it to the zoo today! I've been wanting to bring Joey to the zoo and finally today was the day! So thankful, cos we didn't pay a single cent to get into the zoo. Met a friend we haven't met for so so so long, and her husband has a friend who works in the zoo, so they always go in for free. Today, we bumped into them, and they brought us in for free too! Woo pee!! =D

Did Joey enjoy her first trip to the zoo? I think she did. My only concern previously was that she may not be able to appreciate seeing all the animals, but it seems that she was rather captivated by most of them, especially those she could see close-up. The zoo was spacious, so she could really run to her hearts' content everywhere she likes. Haha...

It's been so long since my last trip to the zoo. Now, apart from real animals, there are alot more animal sculptures and other decorative things like wooden carts, horse carriages...

She always likes fishes.

Surprisingly, although Joey is quite timid, she is not scared of the reptiles, iguanas and snakes. She could even stick her nose against the window pane and stare at them at such close proximity. Even I felt goosebumps when I saw them... ekks..

Everywhere we went, there are monkeys! Most of them are hanging from the tree top branches... swinging here and there... We tried to get Joey to spot the monkeys and chimpanzees, but sometimes she can't see them... hehe..

Joey enjoying her walk walk in the zoo..

Especially when daddy's with her... =)

See the white tiger behind?

The horses pulling the carriages were beautiful, but Joey dared not touch the horse. Wah, but so expensive lor! $8 per adult and $4 per child.. oh man, going to the zoo is so expensive...

Having a little snack..

This is one of the few occasions when it's OK to be dirty.. haha..

A gentle little ostrich..

To commemorate Joey's 1st visit to the zoo, we bought her a little white tee.

More important than all the animal shows and feeding times, today was a great time of family bonding for us. Fun and relaxing.. =D

A Very Creative Game

Kids can play anywhere and anytime. Even without any proper toys, the in-built creativity in them will allow them to imagine out interesting & fun games to play.

Just yesterday, my precious Joey played a game which made me want to cry & laugh at the same time.

See this sofa here?

I didn't really pay attention to what she was doing initially. She would rest her chin on the top of the sofa, then she would climb down really fast from the sofa and run to the back to the sofa, squat there and clap happily.

When I followed her, I realised what had happened.

When her chin was resting on the sofa top, she would spit out a whole mouthful of saliva and let it slide down the sofa, then she would climb down really quickly so that she can rush to witness the saliva drip down the sofa onto the floor, and that's why she was clapping & cheering the ... saliva.

Please Don’t Bash Me

I know by writing this blog entry, many of you would feel like bashing me. Haha..

Yeps! I have officially started my 3-week vacation! It has been a magnificent Christmas and my boss has kindly given us 3 weeks of rest till Jan 14. The problem now is:

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Hahaha.. ya I know... there are many things to do like sleep and bum around or be a couch potato and finish watching the latest HK drama serials. But, I am really more thinking of bringing Joey to do something which she will enjoy. You know, the parent and child bonding thing.

Well, I thought of bringing her overseas. Just a short trip to somewhere, and it's only the 2 of us cos Isaiah can't take leave. But when I thought of the different places I can go, I can't really visualise Joey enjoying herself. And if she doesn't, most likely I will not have a single bit of fun. Instead, it may end up like a torture instead of a vacation to me. Plus, Isaiah is quite worried if I travel overseas alone with Joey.

So, please give me some suggestions... where can I bring Joey to in Singapore? The zoo? And what else??!

Joey Had Fun!

Brought Joey to IMM today, cos we wanted to buy a DVD player from Giant Hypermart. Doesn't she look sexy with that off-shoulder top she wore today? Hahaha...

Entertaining herself in the cab by pretending to talk to her friend on the phone...

Do you think she looks more like Isaiah or me?? =D

To my surprise, there is a water playground at the terrace garden. And since I bought extra set of clothings for Joey, we let her have some fun. She was so excited when she saw the water playground. Still, it took a lot of coaxing before she actually dared to step into the playground. And Isaiah had to hold her hand. She's really quite timid despite her active personality. Haha..

Nice playground eh? Even I feel like playing in it. Heee...

Prep Talk time

I really like the concept of the playground. It's a fun play on physics and gravity..

She saw me holding the camera and automatically 'smiled'. hee..

At the end, she was drenched and we had a hard time dragging her out of the playground.

Mummy Kless apologises for this weird photo. I had accidentally snapped her '露点" and inorder to preserve her modesty, I had to stick that pink square over. =D

After changing, we took Joey on a kiddy ride... You should have seen how their car kept going zig zag cos Joey insisted on controlling the steering wheel..

A happy & fun day!
