Baby J

I am currently in my 13th week of pregnancy. How time flies! =D Good days are ahead!

Interestingly, Babycenter website tells me the following:

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

Isn't it amazing how God puts the power of creation & recreation inside even a foetus?

Very soon, I'll be moving into my 2nd trimester! What a time to rejoice indeed! The pants and jeans are getting tighter and I'll have to go shopping very soon. The mega difference between Pregnancy #1 and #2 is that the tummy grows bigger much faster. I've explained to many people before that it's because the skin's so loose already, so they can stretch anytime. Haha!

Kids – They Can Play With Anything

It's amazing what she can do with just a water pipe and some buckets.

See this formation she set up?

She used the huge red basin to be like a weight on the water pipe so that the water will drip down into the blue bucket. Then she'd transfer the water from one pail to the other pail, humming a little song while doing it. Machiam like a samsui woman. =P

So easy for kids to find enjoyment & entertainment. =D

Oh, Christmas!

Don't you just loveeeeeeeee Christmas? =D

Brought Joey to see the Christmas lights along Orchard Road last night, and I must say I love the decor this year as compared to last year and last last year! The theme this year is all about sweets, candies and cupcakes, which just makes the whole festive season even more joyous!

My camera takes lovely day pictures where there's lots of lighting, but not really the best choice for night photos, so Papa Isaiah was the one who took most of the shots. Wait for him to upload! I'll just be showing a few I took last night. :)

CK Tangs... nice majesty feel mixed with a fantasy touch.. The golden branches remind me of Alice in Wonderland somehow.. :)

My darling! Getting better at her poses I see!

Had a relaxed time just strolling along Orchard Road. Christmas is really coming soon, and I want to bask myself in the spirit & mood of Christmas!!! =D

A Mama Got To Be Creative

I think one of the reasons why being a mama is not easy, is because you have to be creative enough to match your kid's creativity because as a kid, they have boundless amount of creativity & imagination.

This morning, Joey and I had a fun time 'cooking' together. It's PlayDoh time!

This is her new kitchen set which we just assembled. It was her one-year-old birthday gift from some of my colleagues! Finally she's old enough to appreciate it! =D

She helps me to 'cut' the veggies and prepare the ingredients.

I had loads of fun myself, as I was the chief chef. kekekeke... Here are some of our creations!

Yummy Pizza!!

Joey says must add some green veggies to the pizza to make it healthier...

Mushroom... (Inspiration from Mario Bros.. hahaha)

Edadame (is that how you spell it.. looks wrong though.. =P)

And my fav of all - Corn maize!

Finally, we ended off with a loud Happy Birthday song and blowing out of candles on our birthday cake!

See how much she's sweating... Cooking is hard work. Haha.. =D

She Knows How To Get What She Wants….

No joke. This is very scary.

Yesterday we passed by a shop and as it happened many times before, Joey was attracted to the colourful bear in UrbanMale.com shop and walked right into the shop.

We went to pull her away from the bear and the shop (Come on, you don't buy EVERYTHING your kid asks for RIGHT?).

Surprisingly, Joey did not put up a struggle. Instead, she went in a very subdued voice, '为什么爸爸没有买给我的?’

Isaiah and I were already quite shocked to hear her say that. People who hear her may think we are such stingy parents who buy her nothing!!

She then went on in the same calm voice, '为什么爸爸每一次都没有买给我的?’

The SUPER PROVOKED Papa Isaiah walked right in and bought her the bear IMMEDIATELY.

Haha.. this is happy Joey posing with her colourful bear.

(I tried to use the same trick on isaiah to buy me something and it didn't work for me. Chey. =X )

Ice Cream Never Fails

An ice cream man comes & sells ice cream at my block several times a day, so everytime we hear the 'ring ring ring' bell, we know the ice cream man is downstairs!

Ice cream never fails to delight a kid!

This Jie Jie Is So Funny!

Joey was really funny this morning. She accompanied me to Gleneagles for my gynae check-up, and Isaiah was not with us because he had to work.

Everything was going normally till we went into Dr Fong's room. The moment I got onto the chair to prepare to do my abdominal scan, Joey started to wail very loudly! It was definitely a frightened kind of crying, as if Dr Fong is doing to harm Mummy! Hahaha..

We were all very shocked at her behavior, so Dr Fong, the nurse and me were trying to pacify her by getting her to sit with me, and on my lap so that I can hold her hands. But she wailed even louder! She kept saying, 'Mummy, come down! I want Mummy to come down!'

kekeke.. now I kind of regret 'educating' her about seeing doctors and going for operations when someone is injured. She probably thought that they are going to cut me up or something. Haha..

Finally, we did manage to calm her down and let her sit on the chair together with me, and watched the whole scanning with us. In the midst of the scanning, as we were watching baby inside my tummy, she suddenly went, 'Mummy, I want many many babies leh.' Dr Fong asked her how many she wants, and she said, 'Two'. Hahahaha.. that's funny... what a funny jie jie.

After the checkup, we walked over to Botanic Gardens, hoping to see the swans at the Swan Lake.

We did get to the Swan Lake, but there were no swans in sight at all. All we saw were alot of fishes and turtles. =)

Didn't stay long in the Garden cos both of us were exhausted. Joey was probably exhausted from her 'traumatic' gynae visit. We went home and slept like a log for 3 hours! Hahaha..

Joey Is Back After AC!

Finally, the inaugural Asia Conference 2008 is over!!!!!!!

And what a glorious & fulfilling time we all had. I personally thought the whole conference ran very smoothly, given that it's so big scale and one church is doing everything. Hiccups are expected to happen, but ultimately, it's what the people received and brought home with them that really mattered. For the organisers, I must say I had a great great time seeing everything fall into place nicely. =D

Joey at the conference!

The youngest delegate at the Conference. :)

On the finale night of the conference, Joey had a rolling good time with her friend, Nicole, in the nursery. This duo is very funny. They can laugh at their own jokes anytime. =D I'm pretty amused.

Finally, they decided to settle down to watch the praise & worship...

If you are wondering what made them laugh, you must catch a video of them I'm uploading in a while. :)

A Piece of Joey

I finally fulfilled all righteousness and did up a montage of Joey for the church nursery's decoration during Asia Conference!

I've been chased several times for it, and seeing that the other mummies have already submitted their artwork, I decided that I can't procrastinate anymore and today, I finished it!!!

Ta Ta Ta Ta!!!

If you happen to pass by the nursery during asia conference, do drop by to catch a piece of Joey! =D

Buckaroo’s!

Had an enjoyable dinner tonight at Buckaroo's! It's fast becoming one of my favourite restaurants because of its outback and relaxed ambience. :)

It's Joey's 2nd trip there for dinner and there's something there that she loves to eat - chicken wings!!!

~ No smile ~

~ Just right smile ~

~ Over smile ~

Checking out the menu

I have no idea why she's so happy with the bowl...

Saw a funny poster hanging on the wall..

Joey has started to enjoy her chicken wing... she's real good at eating chicken wings, I must tell you! She can bite off the meat from the bones and she especially loves to munch on the tip of the wing!

Look how much she is enjoying her chicken wing... licking clean everything!!

Check out what the adults ate!

Garden salad

Buffalo wings! We ordered half a dozen in the 1st level of spicy-ness and sour-ness.. Very nice & appetizing! The next level is called 'volcano' and there's a third level which we have not tried before!

Isaiah's chicken chop

My MIL's sirloin steak

A very nice dinner indeed. :)

If you are thinking of trying out this restaurant, it's located near Sembawang Beach, along Andrews Avenue. It's situated among the bunglow and terrace houses. Go try!
