She’s Balding…

I’m not joking.

You know when Baby Jayne was born, she had quite an even and nice head of soft hair, except for a rather bald area which is right above her forehead. About a month ago, the hair at the back of her head started to drop off bit by bit (I found little hairs on the area where her head lays), and now that area looks like it’s balding. :(

I know this is likely temporary and her hair will probably all grow out one day, but it’s making me very depressed. Forgive me for being such a weakling, but you must remember that Joey was born with such thick locks of hair that balding had never been a problem I had to deal with.

To comfort myself, I made her wear this hair band to hide the bald area!

Yes I know they all look more or less the same, but I insist.

And promise me one thing:

Forget about the balding part. Please. She still looks cute without hair, doesn’t she? :)

JBabies Weekend Edition: The Singapore Zoo (Part II)

Every kid must make a trip to the Kidz World whenever they go to the Singapore Zoo! It’s such a fun place complete with water playground, pony-riding, feeding and touching of little animals. Fun!

I had initially planned to take a boat ride with Joey near to the entrance, which would bring us straight to the Kidz World, but the pier was closed due to structural renovations. So in the end, we walked all the way through the zoo to the Kidz World. If you’ve walked the distance before, you could testify how far it was!

Our legs were aching by the time we reached the place, but Joey got all hyped up again when she knew she could feed the goats!

$2 for a pail of assorted veggie goodness. =)

 26 Nov 072

The goats ate like they haven’t eaten for days.

26 Nov 073

The bigger goats were very naughty though. They would use their horns to attack the younger goats to scare them away, so that they get to eat all the food.

That’s Joey scolding the goat bullies for being naughty!

After feeding, it was ice cream time!

We rested our feet inside the air-conditioned restaurant while Joey ate ice cream and rattled on and on. I think she’s loving the very focused time I have with her, listening intently to every word she said with undivided attention. =P

Then we went to watch the “Rainforest Fights Back!” Animal Show. It’s said to be the show with the most animal casts in the world!

Most animal shows we have seen before all have animals appearing on stage and doing stunts. This show, however, had casts and animals coming from all directions!

This ‘Red Indian’ came rushing down from the top towards our direction and Joey was so nervous she quickly shifted closer to me! Haha!

26 Nov 048

There’s another guy who went down the other way..

26 Nov 049

Not only the human casts, the animal casts came from all directions as well! See the lines hanging in mid-air. The birds and monkeys would move along those from the back towards the stage. The show was entertaining because the animals start appearing from somewhere all of a sudden!

There were also animals who would appear on stage and then proceeded to swim in the big transparent tank at the stage front. The ducks were so cute! They came wobbling out in a group of 10, and went dipping in the artificial river on stage! Then before you could get over their cuteness, a group of rabbits went hopping across the stage to the opposite side! But I didn’t manage to snap a photo of them. You got to catch the show to see them yourself!

We were in the zoo from 9+ in the morning till 12.30pm and were totally worn out by then! We didn’t even manage to cover half the zoo! But it was sure fun having a one-to-one time with my darling! :)

JBabies Weekend Edition: The Singapore Zoo (Part I)

Joey’s childcare centre was closed last Thursday and so I decided it was a perfect time for a Joey-and-Mummy-only outing! So we set off for the zoo early in the morning!

She was so excited about it that she even wanted to skip breakfast and go right into the zoo! But mummy was hungry, so she was forced to eat with me. =P

26 Nov 002

The first thing we saw when we entered the zoo – A naughty monkey! Seated right on top of the boards!

26 Nov 004

Joey is scared of crocodiles (It’s my fault, I use them to scare her all the time), and so she likes to pretend they are not real…

We strolled around the zoo (well accurately speaking, I was strolling and she was running way ahead of me, and running back to chide me for walking too slowly), and we saw many animals. Our Singapore zoo is neat, I tell ya.

I swear I DID NOT make her do that pose. I NEVER make my kids pose for my sake. NEVER. Just in case you are not convinced: I did not do that.

26 Nov 010

I wish the white tigers are vegetarians and can be placed nearer so that we can see them clearer. The zoo should probably install telescopes.

26 Nov 013

The pygmy hippos. Clumsy, ugly & love to show us their big butts.

Mummy Kangaroo & Little Joey

26 Nov 019

The weather was scorching hot, I tell you. Perfect for an outing like this but we were sweating like crazy.

26 Nov 021

We both loved the Outback section. We could see the kangaroos up-close!

Frankly speaking, the zoo is really a nice relaxing place. Especially with the man-made reservoir.

The weekend edition continues tomorrow with Joey at the Kids’ World! =D
