Asia Conference 2010

Asia Conference 2010 drew to a close last night with a grand finale. I attended Dr David Yonggi Cho’s session on Sunday morning, and I was so blessed by it. =) What a great honor & privilege to be able to hear from the Man of God, who pastors the biggest church in human history.

I absolutely loved the whole stage design. It was just glamorous!

IMG_9050

Apart from top-notch speakers from around the world, we also had celebrities who performed. It was one amazing Conference packed with solid dosage of the Word of God, and a lot of entertainment.

IMG_9054

See the colorful balloons up on the ceiling? That’s for the finale.. Always a touching sight when the balloons come down on the congregation. =)

Dr Yonggi Cho!!!!!

IMG_9058

He is such a humble man and when he mentions his wife, Dr Kim and looks at her sitting downstage, the love in his eyes was unmistakable! I was so moved!

My dear Joey attended the Conference one full day yesterday! The Asia Conference balloons provided loads of entertainment & enjoyment for her, thank God!

IMG_9060

There were also great childcare facilities to keep the kids occupied!

IMG_9061

During the Finale service of the Conference, the kids had lots of fun inside the Children’s Church. =)

Did You Miss Me? :)

We’re waist-deep in Asia Conference 2010 and that’s the reason why I disappeared for a few days! =D

Today is Friday and officially the last ‘stressful’ day for me because all elective classes will end today!!!! =D Handling the elective portion of the Conference was stressful, but what a great sense of achievement when I see all the participants queuing up excitedly for their classes and come out of the classes looking happy & satisfied! =)

The office nursery moved to Expo since all the staff will be at the Conference, and because of that, I am able to fully concentrate on my work and run the electives! Thank God for the nursery Aunties!!!!

Baby Jayne having fun in one of the nurseries.. =)

IMG_9038

Don’t underestimate the church nursery! It is one very important facility for church growth! If parents feel that their children can have a good time in the nursery during service, they are more open to attending church. In my opinion, it is also the church’s way of loving their members, by extending a service to their members.

IMG_9040

I’ll be on a two-week break after the Conference, so I’ll be catching up on time with my kids! Will be back blogging then! =)

Have an awesome weekend! =D

Do You Believe In Love At First Sight?

Starring main leads: Nigel & Chernise

Where it happened: My house

Occasion: Jayne’s 1st Birthday Party

Sometimes you cannot really explain why you like a certain someone.

Something about that person just attracts you and puts you at ease immediately, as though you’ve known each other for a lifetime.

No one can understand how you feel, sometimes not even yourself.

But when the love hits your heart, it just keeps pushing you on.

Handsome boy

Boy meets girl for the first time. Sits together. Awkward silence.

IMG_8940

Girl took up courage to peek at boy.

IMG_8945

Boy noticed Girl. Smiled.

The best pick-up line ever: “Do you want a drink from MY water bottle?”

Ahhh… such pure love in the making. :)

Baby Jayne Is ONE!

Turning one year old is a major milestone for a baby, because that typically marks the transition from a baby to a toddler. That’s also the point at which most babies start walking, talking and monkeying. So a party’s in order to celebrate the milestone!

I was swamped with the planning & preparation of Asia Conference 2010, so all I did pre-party was to order the food & the cake. Unlike most parties I organized before, I practically didn’t spend time planning for this party. =P I bought the decor on the party day itself, and because I didn’t have time to really think about what to buy, I used whatever I could find at home.

Reused an old birthday banner from Joey’s 3rd birthday..

IMG_8921

Bought another banner with Happy Birthday wordings..

IMG_8920

Made out her name from recycled floor mat press-outs..

IMG_8925

Found some old ribbons and made these ribbon curtains at the door..

IMG_8926

The BIRTHDAY GIRL!

IMG_8932

She’s happy as usual!

IMG_8931

But she prob didn’t know that there’s a celebration coming up later for her!

IMG_8933

We ordered Nasi Lemak buffet from Lee Wee & Brothers!

IMG_8934

What I really like about them is that they are affordable, hygienically and neatly packed, with good service provided. =)

We ordered Nasi Lemak, bee hoon, ikan bilis & peanuts, satay, fried chicken, curry chicken, sotong balls, otah, fried prawn tempura, popiah… Yums!

IMG_8919

We love our darling baby! =D

IMG_8949 IMG_8953

And the friends arrived!

IMG_8976

And here comes the birthday cake! (Have you already guessed???? It’s an agar-agar cake again! Haha…)

IMG_8988

You know what is a major benefit of having an agar-agar cake as compared to a normal cake? You don’t have to worry that the birthday girl will smudge the cake! Baby Jayne tried touching the cake many times and it remained firm as ever!

IMG_8989

 IMG_8992

We told Joey right from the beginning that she got to help mei-mei to blow out the candles and cut the cake because she is still too young to do that. I think that gave her some sense of responsibility. She did it pretty well!

IMG_8993

Singing ‘Happy Birthday’ song to Baby Jayne! She was thrilled and elated to see people singing to her! Haha!

IMG_8994

IMG_8997

And Joey helped mei-mei blow out the candles! Jayne was oblivious!

IMG_8998

And both of them made the first cut… =)

IMG_9001

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY JAYNE!!!!! =D

And thanks to all my dear friends who took the time to come for the party! :) Thanks for making Baby Jayne’s day! :)

To My Little One..

Dear Jayne Jayne,

Sorry that this letter is a little late, but as you know, Mummy’s pretty tied up with Asia Conference preparations. I’m sure you won’t blame Mummy, right? :)

SONY DSC

You’ve come into our little four-room-flat in Woodlands for 365 days (366 days including today), and I must say it’s been one of the best 365 days we’ve had. I’ve never met another baby who smiles as much as you, and till today, I still wonder why I have been so blessed to be given you.

DSC04629

You are like a mini superstar. Everywhere you go, people are enchanted by your smiles and everyone wants to play with you. Quite frankly, it’s quite troublesome for me sometimes because I got to stop in my path to entertain those who can’t keep their hands off you, but I guess such things can’t be helped. Who can resist utterly cute stuffs?

DSC05506

You seem to have so much joy on the inside of you, that you can always find a smile for someone around us. And that has made so many people feel happy, do you know that? I even imagine that some friends are so encouraged by you because of your unconditional smile. We all know that there is an unspoken notion that kids only like kind and nice people. If a baby smiles at you, you’ve scored a point. Ding Dong!

DSC05550

Admittedly, no matter how cute & happy you are, there’re still times when you throw tantrums and whine unnecessarily and incessantly. You’re afterall still a baby and you have the right to be a crybaby. But I am embarrassed to admit that even during those times, I can still say with a straight face that you are cute. Yes, even those times when you are angry and frustrated, I still think that’s cute. OMG, I must be so blindly in love with you.

28 Nov 037

Baby, Mummy can’t wait for you to start walking and running, so that you can have lots of fun with your Jie Jie. You gals will have so much fun growing up together, sharing clothes, gossiping about boys… Mummy only had a brother while growing up and trust me, he doesn’t see boys the way I do. =.=

So, have fun growing up, my dear. :) The days ahead are looooooonggggg, but you have Daddy, Mummy and Jie Jie every step of the way.

WE LOVE YA, JAYNE JAYNE!!!!!
