Re-On: Enjoy Your Life!

Sponsored Post

I have a personal liking for all things Japanese. Many people know that Japanese products are well-known for their high quality, and their creativity always amazes!

So you can imagine how excited I was when Re-On Holdings Singapore approached me to do a review on their online shop, as well as some of their best-selling products. Re-On Holdings Singapore is basically a trading company affiliated to a Japanese trading company, Crystal Group. The online store specialises in selling original Japanese products imported directly from Japan. Parents like myself would be very glad to find familiar Japanese baby product brands such as Pigeon, Kao etc on the online shop. The best part about the shop is that they offer authentic Japanese products at very reasonable prices!

Online shopping has got to be my new-found hobby, especially after my two hyperactive kiddos came into the picture. Lugging the two of them to the shopping mall meant that I have to spend 90% of the time chasing after them. Online shopping is much easier (and less tiring!)! I did a quick surf on Re-On’s website and there were so many products that caught my eye! The website is also very easy to navigate around and user-friendly. On the homepage, you can find different categories of products. This makes shopping straightforward and easy even for IT-dummies.

Re-On very kindly couriered over a package of items for the kids. =) We excitedly tried the products!

1) WAKODO Baby Teeth Cleaning Wipes 30 pcs ($14.60)

I was happy to get this box of teeth cleaning wipes because it was a little difficult to get Baby Jayne to brush her teeth. She’d insist on holding the toothbrush on her own, and of course that means her teeth are not cleaned properly. With these wipes, I can get those pearlie whites cleaned properly! Great also for outdoor use. It is made of 100% natural material and sterilized with high-pressure steam before packaging.

IMG_5463

I got Joey to try them, and she said it was very convenient and easy to use! =)

IMG_5468

All you need to do is take out a sheet and wipe! Simple as A-B-C! Your kids can do it all by themselves!

IMG_5470

Ta-da!!!

IMG_5472

2) Diapers
Kao Merries Walker Pull-Up Pants Large 42 pcs – $32.90
Kao Merries Diapers Large 54 pcs – $32.90

Re-On sent over pull-up pants for Joey and diapers for Baby Jayne. Joey wears the diapers only at night when she sleeps and we usually need to change her diaper once during the night because it would be so full and heavy and Joey would pull it off herself. The pull-up pants that Re-On provided, however, was very soft and comfortable, and it could sustain the amount of urine throughout the night! We only needed to change the diaper the next morning!! Amazing holding capacity!

IMG_5461

Baby Jayne was happy with her new diapers too. I especially liked it that both sides of the diaper are stretchable, which meant that it was more comfortable for her, and the fit was better. My mother-in-law and I were both convinced that Japanese products are indeed more superior and better in quality. =)

IMG_5488

3) Wet wipes
Nepia Genki Wet Tissues Alcohol Free 3 Packs X 70pcs – $6.90
Unicharm Moony Baby Wet Tissue Ultra-Moist 8 packs X 70pcs – $27.90
Unicharm Moony Baby Wet Tissue Super-Soft 8 packs X 8pcs – $29.90
Pigeon Baby Wet Tissue 6 packs X 80pcs – $23.90

It’s amazing how many different kinds of wet wipes Re-On offers on their website! They sent me these four types to try, and I must say I am impressed by how soft they are (so that they are gentle on baby skin), and all of them are alcohol-free and odour-free. The wet tissues by Moony (centre) are even made from three-level cotton and are super duper soft! Best part of it is that these wet tissues are very affordable! Each pack contains 70 or 80 pieces and cost between $2 to $4 each depending on which ones you choose. That’s really value-for-money!!!! Quality + Economical = GREAT!!!

4) Mickey Mouse Baby Bib ($26.90)

I saw this on the website and I immediately put it on my list of wants! Baby Jayne has begun to self-feed, but because her motor skills of holding the spoon is not that advanced yet, she drops a good 50% of her food onto the table or the floor. That usually means that I have to do a lot of cleaning up after every meal time, which can be quite painful. This bib consolidates all the ‘dropped food’ into the container and makes cleaning much easier! Plus, it makes my baby super cute! =)

IMG_5467

5) Mickey Mouse Clothes Hanger (5 pcs for $13.60)

I couldn’t resist these adorable clothes hangers! (They also come in pink Minnie Mouse design but was out of stock at the moment!)

IMG_5485

Just look at the Mickey Mouse ears!! Ahhhhhhh!!!! =D

IMG_5484

We were happy with all the products sent over by Re-On, and I’m sure you will be able to find something you like and need there as well. Lastly, I’ve got a piece of good news to share with all you dear readers: Hop over to Re-On Holdings Singapore now and you can get 10% off your purchases! Just indicate "Mummy Kless" in the remarks section when placing your order. The discounted price will not be displayed immediately, but you will receive a new confirmation order shortly after your order and the adjusted prices (after discount) will be reflected correctly then. Do note that this discount offer is only applicable to cash-on-delivery orders.

Have fun shopping! =)

Why Are Kiddy Rides So Popular Among Kids?!

I remember as a kid, I bugged my parents to let me sit in kiddy rides all the time. I don’t remember what the excitement or fun was then, but I do remember that it was something I love to do. So while I am always bewildered why my kids go crazy over kiddy rides, I consciously remind myself that I used to do it myself too as a little girl.

Over last weekend, we brought the girls to an arcade within a shopping mall, and we had a hard time dragging them away from it.

IMG_5500

Baby Jayne was happy enough sitting on the kiddy ride, even though we didn’t put in the coins and it was not rocking.

IMG_5501

She would go up and down different kiddy rides just to sit in them.

IMG_5503

IMG_5505

Joey, thankfully, is over the kiddy ride phase. But she is intrigued by many other games in the arcade. Man, will she be one of those teens who will loiter in arcades after school in the future?? =X

IMG_5506

IMG_5507

IMG_5511

Well, I guess the reason why arcades are doing well and more are springing up in Singapore is that many people love gaming, and kids are no exception. They especially love it when everything is bright, colourful and entertaining. But I really can’t stand the noise – Think I am getting old. =P

Bring On The Exotic Foods!

My daughters are different from many kids. While most kids (even adults!) squirm at eating chicken feet, my girls LOVE them. Joey, especially, is so expert at eating chicken feet that she can lick it clean and spit out every tiny bone. Amazingly good skills. Now Baby Jayne is slowly catching on though she can’t chew on the chicken feet directly yet. So we peel off the flesh for her to eat.

Their favourite soup has got to be the chicken feet, peanut & black bean soup. They can both eat large bowls of rice whenever we cook this soup for their meals.

And I’m sure you have already heard me mention this before – Joey LOVES bitter Chinese medicine. While most kids need to be forced to swallow those bitter goodness, my Joey adores drinking them. She eats the Park Poh Powder from Eu Yan Seng twice to three times a week. The bitter powder has to be dissolved in a tablespoon of water and swallowed. Torturous for most, but delicious to Joey. It’s very weird, I know, but I am thankful of course. This bitter goodness makes her sleep much better at night and brings down low grade fevers caused usually by fatigue.

Besides downing Chinese medicine on a regular basis, Joey loves snacking on ginseng slices. These are expensive, so we usually give only one or two slices everyday. It’s delicious according to her. =X

One of Joey’s favourite desserts is the Black Sesame Paste.. Another weird choice because most kids would have been turned away by the black colour. But she likes it anyhow.

IMG_5513

She was so cheeky, wanting to create a moustache with the paste!

IMG_5514

She loves black sesame paste just like Daddy. =D

IMG_5515

It is obvious the girls take after Daddy who loves bitter stuffs as well. As for Mummy, I hate bitter stuffs. Thank you but no thanks.

I Have Proof That She Idolises Her

I have this theory that God made younger siblings admire and idolize their elder siblings out of instinct and natural inclination.

Even though I grew up fighting and arguing with my brother a lot, I know that he secretly idolizes me all these while. As a kid, he admired that I could do my Maths and write my essays. He admired that I could go out alone with my friends when he could only go out with our mum. He admired that I was a model student and favourite student among many teachers in our school. In his eyes, he always wondered how come I could excel in so many areas. I didn’t make that all up – He told me all those before.

Take a look at my girls and I know this theory is true. Since a couple of weeks ago, Joey started having this craze over dress-up Barbie dolls. She would bring her Barbie doll everywhere she went and she even talks to her and brushes her hair. Very typical little girly stuffs.

IMG_5437

IMG_5438

So because Baby Jayne sees her sister carrying around a little doll, she had been insisting on bringing a doll around with her as well. She chose a wind-up doll that plays music. Basically, anything goes, as long as she’s carrying something just like her sister.

IMG_5425

IMG_5424

At home when Joey is playing the IPAD or watching Youtube videos on it, Baby Jayne wants to do the same thing as well. At times, she sits next to her sister obediently. At other times, she may attempt to snatch it away from her sister, which of course leads to a cat fight of some sort.

IMG_5476

Actually, to Baby Jayne, whatever her sister is doing, she must also do. It’s as simple as that. She may not understand it now, but it’s definitely some sort of idolising her sister for being so cool and smart.

IMG_5477

It’s so good to be able to look up to someone, right?? =)

The Reason Why Women Keep Having Babies..

There is a constant struggle that goes on in the hearts of mothers.

Everyone knows how painful childbearing is. Even if you have a C-section operation and didn’t have to go through 15 hours of screaming and enduring painful contractions, the recovery from a C-section was not exactly pain-free either. So having babies is tough and even traumatising for some. Then again, that could be the easy part in childbearing because the really tough bits come after the baby comes out. The hourly night feeds, non-stop and illogical crying and fussing, as well as monotonous diaper changing and milk pumping, are not exactly glamorous, to say the least.

Quite frankly, many mothers make this silent vow within them (especially during the first month of giving birth) that they will have NO MORE babies after this one. Simply because it’s really hard work taking care of kids! Having said that, WHY DO SO MANY WOMEN KEEP HAVING BABY AFTER BABY??!

Like I said, it’s a constant struggle. Women go by instincts and are driven by emotions. We usually have the most irrational thoughts when faced with the cutest and heart-tugging objects.

OK, maybe not that.

I mean, THIS.

IMG_5238

The reason why women keep having thoughts of wanting to have more babies is because they keep seeing how cute their kids are! I say, it’s one vicious cycle and definitely a ploy of some supreme kind to keep the human race going!!!

Ask any mother who has grown-up kids or at least kids who’re already in Primary School, and they would tell you that they miss the times when they could carry and cuddle their kids as babies. They miss the baby smell (an exotic combination of regurgitated milk, baby powder, saliva and Ruyi oil). Many mothers miss the times when their kids were still crying babies (Irony! Irony!) even though that period was the toughest to manage!

And some women do the irrational and unthinkable – They go on and have MORE babies just so that they can relive those moments of cuddling newborns! Ahhhhhh!!!

Seriously, if raising kids is not so tough and ahem expensive, I won’t mind having more kids just to see what kind of little Isaiah and little klessis I can produce! LOL! But before you jump to any conclusion, NO I AM NOT PLANNING TO HAVE ANOTHER KID. Just for the record. =)

All this whole load of verbal regurgitation came about because recently, I’ve been watching Baby Jayne with amazement that she had turned into a lady toddler without my knowledge! She is no longer a baby, OMG.

She cuddles her doll and walks confidently all by herself at the market. I was walking behind her the whole time, and she was just walking along, at times waving hello to the Uncles and Aunties that pass her by with looks of amusement on their faces. I say, she’s one bold lady!

IMG_5456

This stage is of course another kind of cuteness altogether, but I am a little sad that the baby period is over officially.

IMG_5458

No more baby smell. Bleh.

When Scarcity Is Precious

Now that the kids don’t follow me out of the house everyday to school and nursery respectively, the amount of time I get to spend with them decreased significantly. It used to be that we would spend close to two hours everyday during the car journeys we take to and fro office. Even though I may spend majority of that time screaming at my kids to stop shouting at each other, or to stop monkeying around, it was still time spent together. So now, Daddy and Mummy only get to see the two kiddos early in the morning before we leave for work and the few hours we have every evening after we come back from work and of course, the entire weekend. Still, the drop in time spent together meant that we treasure the precious time more.

The kids were happy even when we were just bringing them to a nearby playground. =) And I always love watching them walk hand-in-hand from the back. It’s somewhat heart-warming. =)

IMG_5419

IMG_5422

IMG_5424

This elder sister must really learn to curb her ‘desire’ to guide her younger sis. By-passers may think she was trying to man-handle her. =P

IMG_5426

But of course, she was only being over zealous. I know how much she loves her sister. =)

IMG_5427

IMG_5428

It’s really a happy feeling that I can spend time with my kids, watching them play and have fun. Simple bliss of being a mum. =)

IMG_5431

My girl learnt how to play hopscotch, a game I often played as a little girl. And she kept wanting me to video down her hopping, so that she could see how she hopped. Haha..

IMG_5432

I love my girls with all my heart. =)

The Ugliest Shoes On Earth?

To be frank, I used to think that they are the ugliest shoes ever on earth. I still do not like them very much now, but I have to admit that they’re one of the best shoes my children had so far. Comfortable, easy to put on and move around in.

Yes, I’m talking about Crocs.

Joey’s Shu-Shu (Uncle) bought her the first two pairs of Crocs. One was a lilac original style and the other was a grey & pink Mickey Mouse series. Joey loved them. She wore them everywhere she went, and they served her super well for the next 2 years. They were easy to clean and wash, and dry fast too. The shoes were wide and so was comfortable for kids to wear without feeling that their toes were crashed together.

IMG_5411

When Jayne came into the picture, we bought her this purple & pink pair. So far, it’s been the only pair of shoes that won’t slip off while she was running.

IMG_5409

Oh, she runs so well in them, I tell you.

IMG_4766

Joey outgrew her 1st two pairs of Crocs recently, and her Nai-Nai (Grandma) bought her a new pair of Mary Jane Crocs. It is such a sweet girly pair!!! Joey even chose for herself a pair of Hello Kitty rabbit Jibbitz. =) So far, she’s been wearing this pair of Crocs to school everyday!

IMG_5407

Imagine our delight when we heard that there was a Crocs sale at Suntec City! We immediately went over and bought these for our girls!!

Two dark pink original-style Crocs sold at $19 each…

IMG_5410

And these came in a pack that costs only $5 each!

IMG_5412

I think Crocs might be the only thing I think is ugly, but will still let my kids wear. Irony irony.

The Crocs sale should still be on till this weekend! Drop by Suntec City Convention Hall 202 to grab some great deals! Available for adults as well. =)
