Located along Tanjong Katong Road is a contemporary modern Indian restaurant, that’s unlike any other Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. When I visited Zaffron Kitchen with a bunch of friends last week, I was mightily impressed with the place. It presents Indian food with a tinge of humour and sophistication. I absolutely love that place!

Just a quick look-a-round the place. If you love everything Scandinavian, you’ll love the decor of this restaurant.

Possibly the only hint in the restaurant that it serves Indian food. Pretty interesting to see this tray of spice exhibits, as I’ve only tasted them, but never seen them in raw form before. =P

And this is why the restaurant is kids-friendly and popular among parents with young children. There is a wooden playhouse inside the restaurant, with a small corner equipped with toys and even a small kitchen playset! =D I love how the play area is right smack in the centre of the restaurant – Makes it so easy for parents to dine in peace, while watching their kids.

And now, wanna see what the food looks like? =D As we were in a big group, the restaurant specially prepared a buffet line for us, and because of that, I get to show you a wide array of items they offer on their menu. Awesome much!

I’m not good with all the names of the dishes, but all I can say is that their naans (not in pictures sadly!), both garlic & butter ones, nasi bryani and fish masala were DELICIOUS! The rest were also yummy, do I am officially an Indian food convert! (Try their sour plum lime juice! Refreshing & cool!)

Don’t you love how prettily the food was served? It makes THAT MUCH a difference to the overall dining experience. And I love the un-conventional labelling. Very nice. =)

Definitely recommended! Zaffron Kitchen is located at 135/137 East Coast Road, S’pore 428820.
