I must be one of the very few suaku persons around! I went on a cruise for the first time in my life on Monday! =P
And because of that, I was really excited about it because I’ve heard so much from friends on their cruise experiences, and I wanted to see it for myself. Thank omy for the opportunity and of course, The Royal Caribbean, for the wonderful experience onboard their ‘Legend Of The Seas’!
It was a half-day tour specially organized for a group of 40 bloggers and we were there to check out Legend Of The Seas on their very 1st sailing trip from Singapore.
The cruise was HUMONGOUS. I mean, I know cruise liners are big, but even I was taken aback by the sheer size of it.
After my tour on the cruise, I now know why my friends love to go on cruises. :) It’s really a very relaxed way of holidaying! Let me share with you why. =D
1) YOU FORGET YOU’RE ACTUALLY ON A CRUISE.
It’s easy to forget you are actually on a cruise because the interior of the Legend Of The Seas was soooooooooo beautiful! Frankly, the whole decor looked like a very luxurious European shopping mall.
Right at the central ground area, a pianist & violinist were serenading the guests with beautiful music. The pianist even waved to me when he looked up and saw me taking photos of them. Love the spontaneity! :)
I love the majestic feel and vastness of the place. =)
And look what I saw when I looked up – A beautiful glass ceiling!
2) YOU CAN SHOP TILL YOU DROP!
Can you believe that everything sold onboard is excluding taxes and generally cheaper than land prices??
It’s amazing that they have so much variety in their shopping mall – It ranges from cosmetics to clothes, soft toys, titbits, souvenirs! You can almost find anything you want here. How awesome for ladies who need to scratch that itch to shop!
3) THERE’S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE.
Anyone who steps onto a Royal Caribbean’s cruise liner will have something to entertain them. There is a big lounge where many of the entertaining activities take place. People play bingo, watch movies or just relax with a drink here.
Every cruise liner must have round mirrors like these, right?!
The whole lounge was comfortable carpeted. I like it. :)
There is a very well-stocked library on the cruise liner. If you’re a book lover, you’ll have a great time here. Or if you’re just looking for some quiet relaxing time, this is just perfect. :)
If reading is not your cup of tea, there is always a games room for you and your friends to have a round of cards, mahjong or board games.
Then of course, there is always a business centre for your internet surfing needs.
A games arcade will excite both the kids and the adults. :)
For the sun lovers, you would love these facilities you can find onboard!

Swim and tan! (Seriously, how to resist such a pool?!)
Even the children have something to enjoy! They can have a blast in this children’s room with video facilities, toys, storybooks and a very friendly teacher. :)

4) THE ROOMS THAT WOW-ED US!
I must admit: I thought all rooms on a cruise liner must be pathetically small, crammed and badly ventilated. But I was pleasantly surprised when we were shown the rooms on Legend Of The Seas! Of course, the more pennies you have in your pockets, the bigger rooms you could afford. :)
This is one of the most common rooms available onboard. The rooms may not be very big, but it has everything you need – A comfortable bed, dressing table, TV, wardrobe, hot water flask, sofa, bathroom, sink etc. It was great!
A higher category of room would come with a balcony each, and it was so cool! You could sit on the balcony, have a little drink and just enjoy the amazing view!
Legend of The Seas also offers the family room, which comes with a big living area, two bedrooms and bathrooms. It was so great just imagining going on a cruise trip and staying in such a spacious room!
Now did you think those were the best they have onboard? Of course not! We visited two other categories of rooms that totally WOW-ed us!
The first was known as the Owners’ Room – The owners of the cruise probably love staying in this suite??!
The room was really huge. The sofa was huge. The bed was huge. The bathroom was huge. The balcony was huge. Everything was huge and beautifully decorated!

Then we went along and viewed the most luxurious suite – The Royal Suite, onboard the Legend Of The Seas, and all of us didn’t want to leave. Haha!
It has a mini kitchenette-cum-bar counter!
The dining area and living room. Very well-furnished and cosy. :)
Can you believe it? There’s even a white baby grand in the room! Oh.my.gosh. It just adds that special touch to the whole place. :)
It has an oval bath tub – Can fit two! =)
The bed in this suite is even bigger and looks really comfy!
It would be so wonderful if we could stay in this room for a few nights!!!!
5) FOOD! FOOD! FOOD!
Now, we cannot deny that food is so very important on a holiday. We checked out the main restaurant on the cruise and I was overwhelmed by the wide variety they offer on their buffet line! And all so beautifully put together to whet your appetite!

There is also an outdoor dining area and bar counter, if you prefer the fresh air to air-con. :)
Besides the buffet restaurant, there is also another restaurant on the Legend of The Seas and it’s called the Romeo & Juliet Dining Room. This dining room serves fine-dining courses and is slightly different from the buffet restaurant. Passengers can make reservations for their meals in this place if they choose not to dine at the buffet restaurant. Very happy to be able to have a great lunch there. :)
The interior of the restaurant was really nice with a very lovely sea view. :)

6) THE SUNNY UPPER DECK!
If I only need one reason to come back for a cruise trip on Legend Of The Seas, it’s got to be the upper sunning deck! I love the energy in this place, especially on a bright sunny day! =)
There you have it – 6 BIG REASONS why you should go on a cruise vacation on Legends Of The Sea. I had such an awesome time on the cruise liner! What impressed me was the meticulous service provided by the crew onboard and how everything was orderly and clean. I would love to be back for my own personal vacation again!
