One of the most memorable bits of my Darwin trip has got to be the stay at Wildman Wilderness Lodge. It’s memorable simply because it’s incredibly beautiful and peaceful. As its name suggests, the place is really out in the wilderness and it was such a surreal feeling seeing wallabies hoping everywhere, with some just at our doorsteps.

The main lodge had such pretty interiors. I love the Scandinavian style!

See how the sunshine came right into the dining hall? Love it absolutely.

The experience at Wildman Wilderness Lodge was special because we slept in ‘tents’ at night that had no air-conditioning, only one ceiling fan. It was rather warm but we were told that in July/August, temperatures drop to 15 degrees celsius, and sleeping in the tents would be very cooling and nice.

The cute wallabies were watching us all the time. They would hop towards us, stand still, watch us then hop away again. So super adorable. =D

The staff at Wildman Wilderness Lodge told us that many people chose to stay there because of the ‘tent’ experience that they were seeking after. Plus, it was rather therapeutic to watch wildlife on the porch of the tents.

If you think the tents are really like camping tents, then you are wrong. In fact, when I stepped into my tent, my first thought was, ‘This is like the tent in Harry Potter!’ haha.. If you remember – In the Harry Potter movies, every tent looks simple and small from the outside, but once you step in, you’ll find a super huge space with beds, bathrooms etc. It’s actually very cosy & beautifully furnished inside!

The nice porch I was talking about earlier on. When the weather’s cool and nice, I would imagine it would be very nice to spend an evening here watching the wallabies and birds.

The main lodge had a nice heated swimming pool, where hubby and I had a dip the next morning before our breakfast. =)

This huge sofa area would be nice for large groups. See the campfire pit right in the centre? The staff roasted chicken in that pit for our dinner that night. It was really magical hanging around this area and watching the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen in my life.

The sunset at Wildman Wilderness Lodge was breathtakingly gorgeous. It was beautiful because of the magnitude of colours you can see. A pity my camera went out of battery that evening, but look at the gorgeous photos my hubby captured on his.

The next morning, before we went for breakfast, we walked around enjoying the peacefulness of the place. Totally calms our nerves.
