Crizal UV - Lens with UV Protection!

Sponsored Review

Some time back, I shared about my experience as a Crizal Ambassador, and how my Crizal lens have given me better and clearer vision. I've been using my spectacles with Crizal lens for about 1.5 years, and it's still working very well. No scratches, no smudges and absolute crystal clear lens. I'm really quite impressed because my previous spectacles definitely didn't last that long in such good conditions. So, I was really happy to hear that Crizal has come out with a new series of lens, now with even better properties!

Crizal UV by Essilor has introduced their ultra UV protection eyewear lens that provided UV blockage and back UV reflection. In addition to the 5 enemies of vision (Water, smudges, scratches, reflections & dust!), the lens now provide UV protection for our eyes as well - This is a first in the market!

Since my spectacles are still serving me very well, I brought my mother-in-law to make a new pair of spectacles with the Crizal UV lens sponsored by Crizal. She was just in need of a new pair of spectacles because her current pair is badly scratched. About two weeks ago, we went to Capitol Optical to choose a frame for her new specs. :)

This is my mother-in-law's new specs with Crizal UV lens!

She's really happy with her new spectacles because it's clear (no more scratches!) and the lens block away the reflection (which can be very irritating on the eyes) especially when she's reading books at night with the table lamp. With the added UV protection property of the lens, she can also wear them when she goes out to meet her friends. While many of us are aware of the harmful effects UV rays have on our skin, most of us may have neglected the detrimental effects UV exposure have on our eyes. Studies have in fact shown that UV exposure will accelerate eye aging and appearance of cataracts (!!!), amongst other vision problems. Furthermore, 40% of UV rays can reach our eyes even when not in full sunlight because they exist not just in sun rays, but also in other forms of light. Now, I'm really glad I made this new pair of specs for my mother-in-law because cataracts is such a common ailment among the elderly!

The new Crizal UV coating on the lens minimizes visible and UV reflection from the back, providing protection for both the front and the back of its lens. With the front transmission blocked by the lens material, Crizal UV provides 360-degree UV protection for the eyes. The lenses also come equipped with Eye-Sun Protection Factor (E-SPF) 25 meaning the wearer is 25 times more protected against UV than any other lens. UV protection is so very important!

Our Crizal lens have served us very well, so if you are looking at changing your spectacles soon, why don't you consider using Crizal lens? If you've been wearing spectacles for as long as I have, I am sure you would understand how important good lens are for our eyes. :) For more information on Crizal, visit www.crizal.com.sg and on E-SPF, visit www.espf.com.

P/S: I received complimentary Crizal UV lens for purpose of this review and frames are not included. All opinions and photographs are 100% my own.
