If you've been following this blog for a number of years, you would remember that we spend the first day of the Chinese New Year at Great Grandma's place in JB every year. It's been a tradition that the kids look forward to, because all their favourite Uncles and Aunties are gathered in one place to entertain them. For a few years, Joey & Jayne were the only great grandchildren in the family, and then Papa Isaiah's cousin got married and had kids, so we now have 4 kids running around in the house, with one more on the way. Love rowdy family time! :)
Bought matching baby pink cheongsams for the girls this year from the market, and they cost only $7 each! Cheap is always good, because they probably won't have another chance to wear them again after the Chinese New Year. Baby Jayne even wore pearl necklaces to match her cheongsam! She looked extremely tai tai on the first day of the Chinese New Year. =X
Great Grandma's house at JB is packed with vintage charm. It's probably hard to find such decorations in Singapore anymore. Papa Isaiah's Uncle is an avid collector of antiques and vintage stuffs. Everything there is eye candy to me. =)
Hanging on the kitchen walls are really old photographs of Great Grandma & Great Grandpa, and their family shots. The kids could not recognise their grandma anywhere, because she was still a little girl in those photos, haha!
The sisters in the family have all become mothers & grandmothers. :) The lovely old lady with white hair is Great Grandma! =D
As usual, we had catered food for our family luncheon. But this year, I found these vintage bottles of goodies by the side. Prettier as decor than to be eaten??!
The gathering this year was even more fun because the cousins who migrated to Australia were back for a visit! :)
Happy Chinese New Year, everyone! :)
