The Great Bintan Sale: The Lovely Hotel Stay

Sponsored Review

Thanks to omy and Bintan Resorts, we were whisked away for a 3D2N holiday last week in conjunction with the launch of The Great Bintan Sale. It was a lovely break for us all, away from the hustle of busy life, and it certainly revealed a different side of Bintan to me compared to the last few times I've been there. This is Part 1 of 2 posts I would be doing on the trip, and today's post would focus on the hotel we were staying at.

We were very glad to be put up at Angsana Bintan Resort because their meticulous service made the whole experience an extremely happy one for us. Right from the moment we cleared immigrations at the Bintan Ferry Terminal, we were ushered to our private MPV that took us to the resort. There, a very friendly and eloquent lady brought us to the lounge and explained that she would be helping us with the check-in procedures while we enjoyed our refreshing lemongrass drink. She also explained that she would be helping us to settle our boarding passes for our ferry trip home so that we did not need to reach the Ferry Terminal earlier than necessary. That was some kind of excellent service, I say!

The drink was very refreshing indeed on such a warm day, and before we even finished our drinks, the same lady came back with our room keys and a layout map of the resort. She briefly explained where we would be able to find the usual amenities like the swimming pool, kids' room, restaurants for breakfasts and other meals as well as a water sports centre at the other end (which we didn't explore unfortunately). Of course, our luggage had already been sent to our hotel room as well while we were enjoying our drinks. The whole check-in process was done in a breeze and we felt like VIPs literally!

Our room was a one-bedroom suite, and we were happy with how spacious and cosy it felt all at the same time! There was a mini kitchenette as well with a microwave - something useful for families with young kids.

Bedroom has a huge queen-sized bed, sofa and a writing desk. You'll be happy to know that there is free wifi for the resort guests as well (yay!!!).

The living room has a L-shaped sofa, dining table and the kitchenette.

The dining table was really cosy and we had several meals there. :)

They also brought in an extra bed for us (part of the package). We combined the bed with the sofa and had a mega huge king-sized bed in the living room! =D

The balcony outside connects the bedroom and the living room, and we could get the view of the swimming pool from there.

Bathroom comes equipped with a bath tub and the usual amenities.

A nice little surprise was lying on the bed for us - Two little t-shirts from Angsana Bintan Resort for my girls. It's the little things they do that made our holiday a really nice one. :)

The resort has a really huge restaurant near the entrance, and this was where we had our breakfasts every morning as well.

The breakfast line was recent, though I wouldn't say it's fantastic. But at least, they changed their menu for the two mornings we dined there.

And of course, we absolutely had to check out the swimming pool. The girls spent many hours in there!

The great service continued at the poolside where novels were provided for your leisure reading, and anti-sandfly creams for you to apply if you wish to walk on the beach. I am terrified of sandflies after several bad cases of being beaten by them, so I was extremely thankful for this gesture.

I love this stretch of the beach outside the hotel. Such a peaceful and tranquil sight. :)

This was my fourth time to Bintan and my first time actually exploring the beach. I don't know what was I thinking the last few times??

I can totally stone here one whole day, if not for my kids screaming for me from the pool.

The beach's too pretty, so we brought the girls there the next day, just to play with the sand. This is what a holiday is all about. :)

We called for room service for two of our meals because we were lazy to travel out. Though the prices were not exactly friendly, we immediately understood why when the food was delivered. The staff did not just deliver the food, but he also set up our table with proper table mats, plates and cutlery, and even a basket of fresh breads with condiments even though we did not order them. He also brought in a vase as you can see - basically a full restaurant setup in the comfort of our own room! I wonder if the setup played a part, but the food tasted delicious!

Would I recommend Angsana Bintan Resort to my friends visiting Bintan? Absolutely without a doubt! Everywhere we went in the resort, we were met with friendly staff who greeted us and checked that we were okay and didn't need any assistance. The moment we stepped into the hotel lobby, someone would immediately check whether we were waiting for any transport etc. Once a day, a housekeeping staff would knock on our door with his trolley full of mineral water and clean towels and asked if we needed any of those, even though they had already cleaned up our room and replenished the supplies. The service was certainly top-notch and we felt very well taken care of, indeed. Thank you Angsana Bintan Resort for such a wonderful hotel stay!
