I think Jayne is just so cute!
She is such a "smiley" baby! All you need to do, is to get her attention, and she gives you the brightest smile possible!
She reminds me again of what is child should be like! Carefree and enjoying your life always!

San

What I like (no, LOVE) about Jayne is the fact that she is such a smiley baby! Honestly, can any baby smile more? Tooooo cute!

ast

What I like about Joey/Jayne (choose one) is her ability to bring out the best in her mother.

lkuan

What I like about Joey & Jayne is .... they are the cutest babies in the world! A single lovely smile by them can turn a mountain of worries and troubles into nothing! Best of all, becos of them, i know their mummy has to be the most wonderful woman alive!!

Harper

What I like about Joey is that she have pretty unique eyes which is so small that made her stand out of all the kids.

fiona

What i love about Joey is the funny things that she says! They lift up my bad days in an instant! :D

Cherie

What i love about Joey is the cutest, funniest things that she say and do. It never fails to make me happy and think that actually deep down in all of us adult, we still can afford to have some 'child-like innocence'.
What i love about Jayne is her ever smiley face, really heartening to know that happiness can be so simple.

MeishiAng

What I like about Joey, was her bubbly laughter and character :) She's such a lovely kid that whenever i saw her in Church's playground(Kids @ Play), i can't help but to smile to her. Being a fan of her and this website, it brought a closer understanding of her! Haha. She's definitely a wonderful sister, and daughter. When you feel sad, i know that she'd console you with her innocent smile and 'sayang' you with her gentle small hand. And that moment, you'll know how angelic she is. :)

kristie.wong

too many things about Joey and Jayne that I love that it is simply impossible to list them all here. One thing that I must comment is none other than their enchanting smile, especially Baby Jayne!!!! OMG. She is such a smiley baby that when you are with her, it is impossible not to be cheered up at all!!! =))) I heart the 2 girls!

JoPeck

I tend to prefer Jayne over Joey at the moment. Not that I meet either of them at all but I love seeing baby pics and mummy takes wonderful ones of Jayne... it really helps to scratch my 'baby itch'. :)
Jayne looks like she's gonna grow up to be an outgoing gal with a constant beautiful smile on her face. Just have to love her!

The Big Mummy Kless Giveaway- CLOSED!

Hi guys, the contest is now officially closed!

The winner will be announced TOMORROW! =D

Thanks for all your support and comments.. I had fun reading each and every one of them!

Memories At Old Ford Factory

Last Saturday, we brought the girls to the Old Ford Factory museum, located at Bukit Timah area. For the girls, it’s stuffs they’ve never seen before, way before their time of course.

As the name implies, this used to be an old Ford factory, assembling famous Ford cars. Now, it’s been converted into a mini museum documenting the Japanese Occupation, in particular, the Surrender of the Japanese.

IMG_7200

At the entrance area, there was a photo gallery of how Old Ford Factory had evolved to what it is today.

IMG_7205

At the ticketing area was a display of historical books on the Japanese Occupation for free browsing. I had a feeling it was going to be an enriching history lesson already!

IMG_7208

IMG_7207

IMG_7263

As we stepped into the museum, we were welcomed with various exhibits – Actual items from the Japanese that were preserved.

Bicycles were the most common transportation mode in those days.

IMG_7224

Retro cameras

IMG_7216

Machine guns. Yes, those were violent times.

IMG_7217

Tickets and coupons issued by the Japanese for commoners to purchase daily necessities. The supplies were controlled and given only to those who obeyed.

IMG_7220

Reputedly the exact room where the Japanese signed the surrender papers.

IMG_7228

Quite frankly, as we walked through the exhibition, I started to wonder if it was suitable for my children. The brutal truth of what happened during the Japanese Occupation was heart-wrenching and very saddening. There were many paintings and pictures drawn by the people who went through and survived the Japanese Occupation, and I almost teared reading the stories, especially of those involving babies being tortured. =(

The following is a real photograph of a massacre of the Chinese men, supposedly those who refused to obey.

IMG_7232

This is a picture painted by the man below. He shared stories of how he witnessed babies and children being tortured to death by the Japanese soldiers. They flung the babies into the air so that they will land on the sharp blades at the tips of their guns, then laughed in amazement. I also read another story about soldiers who pierced the children through their rectum and swing them around to play while the children screamed in pain. Too scary and unimaginable. =(

IMG_7255

IMG_7236

My ever-inquisitive Joey asked me what the painting is about and I thought I might as well teach her something. So I told her that the soldiers would do very bad things and kill innocent children and people during war time, and that violence does not solve the problem. Instead, it would cause lots of pain and sadness. I thought Joey looked very solemn after that. Hopefully it’s not too much for her to take. =P

This other painting is about a whole family including 2 young children who were tied to trees and died from hunger after 4 without food. All they did was to unknowingly bought cloth that were stolen. =( My heart was so heavy as I read story after story. I couldn’t believe those were real things that really happened.

IMG_7256

Thank God those brutal times were over and now most countries in the world know that violence cannot solve anything. Jesus is the salvation and the answer to this world. Let’s move on to something happier!

IMG_7248

Baby Jayne doesn’t understand anything yet, of course… But it’s always good to start young!

I was impressed with their washrooms. So colorful!

IMG_7231

We paid $1 for this dice, then we went outside the museum to play a giant Snakes & Ladder which was on the ground right outside the museum entrance.

F&N Singapore Dance Delight!

We had the opportunity to check out one of the most happening dance event in Singapore over the weekend. Thanks to omy, we knew about the event and thought it’ll be fun to check it out!

SONY DSC

The Singapore Dance Delight is presented by F&N Fun Flavours and O School, and it’s the very first time such a prestigious international dance competition was brought to our shores! We caught the competition right smack in town area, just in front of Takashimaya Shopping Mall. I tell you, it was PACKED, PACKED & PACKED!

Just look at the excited crowd!

SONY DSC

Street culture was everywhere we went.. and I guessed that was what made the whole event vibrant and youthful!

SONY DSC

Some of the cool dancers spotted. Fashion is one major part in dancing!

SONY DSC

We reached minutes before the competition started and the whole place was just already pumped up with loud music and lots of action. Many street dance groups were rehearsing their dance steps over and over again. They were so focused and serious about it. But it’s hardly surprising! The winners get to travel to Osaka, Japan, for the finals! =D

The event was organised by F&N and naturally, there were free drinks given away at the event. I LOVE IT!

DSC_0106

Since young, I’ve been a fan of F&N drinks and just a few months back, I got ‘addicted’ to F&N Groovy Grape drink yet again! They’ve got lots of yummy flavors but my personal choice is always the PURPLE one! =D

Joey picked up a cup of Ice-cream soda and loved it! But of course!

IMG_7269

The whole atmosphere made me want to just sway and groove along with them! Haha! But of course, I eventually managed to curb myself and went around taking photos with the awesome dancers!!!

SONY DSC

I managed to catch a shot with the judges! Right next to me is Kenny Low, the Principal of O School and the other guy is a fantastic dancer & choreographer, Ryan! So happy to be able to meet them at the event! Their  passion and love for impacting youths through dancing is contagious & very admirable!

DSC_0124

The dance competition started and all the dance teams gave their 101%!

SONY DSC

Awesome moves… coordinated movements and full of confidence and zest!

SONY DSC

It’s always a joy to watch great choreography and perfect coordination…

SONY DSC

Look, even Baby Jayne enjoyed herself watching the dance performance on the shoulders of Daddy!

SONY DSC

The crowd wowed and the judges watched every dance step and judged the routines.

SONY DSC SONY DSC

It was such an energetic event and we had lots of fun there! =D Thumbs up, F&N and O School, and Thanks omy! =)

The Big Mummy Kless Giveaway!

Well, I’m not Ellen DeGeneres. I can’t afford to give away laptops, microwaves or lifetime Country Club memberships.

But, I can still do my version of a giveaway, just for my devoted readers! =D

THE BEST THING IS

I’m not going to make this difficult. (I know I’m nice)

I’ve thought long and hard about this. I doubt any of you will be that excited if I’m going to give away a pack of Pampers, Pigeon wet wipes, or even a Pooh Bear toddler bed sheet. It’s got to be something that touches our soul, I tell ya. Otherwise, it can hardly count as desirable. And so, this is what it’s gonna be.

Tada!

A Coffee Bean Card with $15 stored value!

img_0780a

If you’re a coffee lover like me, I’m sure you’ll love this card! But even if you’re not, Coffee Bean has lots of yummy pasta, sandwiches and non-coffee beverages! =D

Now, what do you need to do to get this wonderful card?!

Super, duper easy peasy!

So, all you need to do is to leave a comment under this post starting with the sentence, “What I like about Joey/Jayne (choose one) is ….”

Simple, isn’t it?? =)

From among the comments, I will choose my favorite to be the owner of the Coffee bean card! So, be as personal and creative as you can be!

Remember to leave me your name and email address so that I can contact you if you’re the blessed one! Take note that the closing date will be Tue, 30 March 2010, 5pm (S’pore time).

The winner will be revealed here next Wed! :)

Looking forward to see your comments! =D

Her Own Looks

Many people commented recently that Baby Jayne no longer looks like her elder sister, and quite frankly, that makes me sad.

Of course, I want Jayne to have her own looks, personality and style, but the thought that I have 2 identical-looking girls in my house thrills me beyond measure. I actually think it’s cool.

IMG_7082

Another common thing people would say is that Joey looks like Isaiah and Jayne looks like me. Seems like a fair deal then, but it only reinforces the fact that the 2 girls don’t look like each other.

IMG_7081

I wonder what my 2 girls think about this. Will they be happy or sad knowing they don’t really look alike? I remember as a kid, I always felt very ‘relieved’ that my brother and I don’t look like each other. Wahahaha! Please don’t tell my brother!

IMG_7083

Maybe they are glad they have their unique looks. After all, not many people like to look very much like another individual!
