I think I am getting old. Like seriously old.
Last weekend was an exceptionally long one, especially after a drought of public holidays. But instead of diving straight into rowdy crowds along Orchard Roads or playgrounds full of noisy children, I found myself yearning for some peace and quietness. My age is catching up on me, very evidently.
And so, while everyone’s basking in the mood of National Day, we retreated to the playground at Sembawang Shopping Centre. It was perfect. Peaceful, no crowd and I could have a nice little meal while the kids played to their hearts’ content, without letting them out of my sight.
The weather was gloriously hot, and the playground was indoors under shade. Totally awesome – The kids can play for hours without being fried.

I feasted while the girls played hard, running back occasionally for small bites here and there. On the pretext that the girls would be hungry after playing so much, I ordered a lot of food, and I ended up eating 80% of it. *burp*

It was such an awesome afternoon. The girls got to play at their favourite playgrounds, thinking that they’ve got the best daddy & mummy in the whole wide world because they brought them there, and mummy got to chill and feast. It was a winning formula.
