Torture of the Pooh

Joey got a Christmas Pooh bear from Kristie for Christmas. Why do I say it's a Christmas Pooh? Cos the Pooh bear wears a Santa hat. Hehe..

I have evidences of how she tortures poor Pooh bear. So sorry, Kris. :)

FIrst, she bangs Pooh's head on the floor.

Then she tries to tear his santa hat into pieces. (See how focused she is?)

Finally, she wants to bite his nose off. She was caught on film while preparing to bite into it.

No worries. Pooh Bear is still in one fine piece at the end of the day. Torture continues tomorrow.

The Authentic Princess

Stole these photos off Estee's blog, cos she was the one who took them during the Christmas weekend (Hmm.. I haven't charged her for taking photos of my daughter, but maybe I am not 'stealing' the photos afterall. They're mine!)

Drinking milk and wearing her new princess tiara clip! Now, she's an authentic princess!

Haha... Joey looking up at this 'weird' uncle Tristan smiling gleefully at the camera.

Everyone smiling sweetly, except for Joey who is showing her signature blur look as usual.

We managed to 'kick' Uncle Tristan aside and have our own Kuan family photo. :)

I LOVE this photo! Looks so creatively-taken! Taken by Kat!

Christmas Goodies

I didn't manage to take photos of all the presents Joey received, especially the toys, cos they were stacked up in the wardrobe in my bedroom for the time being and I am too lazy to climb and take them down. =P

Anyway, here're some of the presents she got. Enough to make me all excited & happy! Hehe..

First up! A denim dress from Levis' from Daddy Isaiah! He said he got it at a sale. Costs only like $19! Cheap and very nice wor..

Even comes with a denim undie. :)

A Pooh Bear??

A Pooh Bear this is, but only the head though~! Hehe.. it's a bolster from Yuhao! =)

Take a look at this cute clip from Tristan & Estee!

It's cute because it's actually a jewel crown and when you pin it onto Joey's head at the centre, it looks like she's wearing a mini tiara! heee.. super cute!

Cute soft toys from Francis & Cheng!

I can't leave Joey alone with either of them now though, cos she will just chew their noses and ears and they'd be so poor thing, end up being saliva-dripping-wet... So, only for decor now...

Finally, this is from Sabie! She bought a dinner set for Joey so that she can have her own set of plates and cutlery when she can feed herself. :)

Christmas In Church

Ever since I became a church staff, Christmas has been the busiest season in the entire year. This year is no exception. With 5 services over Sat, Sun and Mon, I spent most of my weekends in church. Joey was of course with me throughout! OK, enough of talk! Photo feast begins!

Stripped tee with a stripped bandana. Hehe.. Matching eh..

In the church nursery. I moved from Nursery 2 to Nursery 1 because there's this big colourful playpen in N1 which Joey can roam and crawl & climb. Her energy is limitless, I tell you. Even the nursery workers commented that she is a very active baby.

But I can't leave her alone even for one second. She'd want to put the toys into her mouth and eat them. And these are public toys, how gross can it get. Oh well, just for this photo sake, I kinda stopped her a little late and she got a taste of the rattle ball. Eeekkkksss!

She spotted a pink pig!

And of course, she went for it.

I was on duty for distributing the Santa hats, so Joey and Isaiah waited for me while I finish my work.

We made Joey wear a Santa hat too. But she couldn't wait to pull it off! Hahaha... maybe very itchy..

Mummy looks cute in it though. Haha!

I tell you, Joey kept staring at the lights on my santa hat and for a moment, I think she couldn't recognise me because of the extra hat I was wearing! She looked really bewildered..

By the way, my MIL came for service too. We met Auntie Liying outside the carnival hall, and to our surprise, she actually knows my MIL and has even spoken to her over the phone before! What a small world..

That's Joey's image for today's service. Haha.. she's frowning cos of the bright sunlight..

Back to the same nursery & playpen that she has been playing in for 3 days! Haha...

Staring at the TV screen.... Christmas drama production... :)

Oh yes, did I mention we met one of our old friend, Leslie, yesterday too? Hehe... He has a newborn 3-month-old called Joseph. Joseph is so adorable! =)

That wraps up my Christmas weekend! Merry Christmas to one and all~

Christmas…. Full Of Presents!!

Today I heard Francis make a comment in office - "After having a baby, Christmas is really different..." Haha... I totally understand the basis of that statement, cos we're both new parents this year and so it's the first time we experience the 'parents' culture in church office.

It turned out that all the parents will not buy gifts for each other, but rather buy gifts for each others' kids! Well, of course not every parent who're church staff will do that, but at least for those whose kids are in the office nursery, they will buy Christmas gifts for each other. Joey received all kind of toys from different uncles & aunties, but it's Mummy Klessis who is more thrilled at this point, cos she really doesn't understand much now. Hehe.. When I find the time, I shall take photos of all her presents and blog them!

As for myself, I am also a very happy person because I got what I really wanted as presents! God is good, He hears prayers. Haha..

Pastor Audrey gave me a really nice orange long-sleeved top from SKIN. It comes with a hood (I love clothes with hoods!) and has really large bell sleeves. Very cool! I wore them the very next day!

Among the zone secretaries, we had our usual annual gift exchange. What we did was to write down 3 things as our wishlist and our 'angels' were supposed to get us one of the 3 items. My angel Wenkai bought me a very nice sleeveless top from BUM Equipment. It's really very nice cos it's got crystals on it, which I just love! But deep in my heart, I actually really wanted a new belt, cos the one I have now is breaking down, literally. The next thing I knew, Mingjing gave me a Guess box and inside was a belt!!! Wow! I was so happy, cos it's a studded belt, and it was what I wanted. God is really good. : )

I believe more gifts are coming..... hehehehe....

Eat Eat Eat

When we go out to a restaurant nowadays, we got to let Joey have a sense of involvement as well even thought she can't eat the things we eat. She will be given a bowl and a spoon like everyone but the difference is, she will be eating 'air' while the rest of us will eat real food. :)

She looks like there is really something very delicious inside her bowl hor?

The truth is, the spoon, which is very hard plastic, helps to relieve the discomfort from her teething gums. As long as she doesn't start to throw the spoon, we can all have a meal in peace. =)

The Girl Who Couldn’t Keep Still

Joey has reached the stage where she cannot keep still anymore. She keeps moving and fidgeting when she is being carried or left in the pram. When I put her on the floor to sit, she will be in her crawling position in the next immediate second. When I carry her, she will look left & right and will push you away because all she wants is to be crawling on the floor. So yes, you need a lot of muscles to carry her now.

Here she is in the nursery today!

And of course, everything that she lays her hands on goes right to her mouth. Yeps, anything at all. It can be her soiled diapers, dirty long pants, socks.... ahhh.. her favorite could be her socks cos she loves pulling them out from her feet and chewing them. Sigh.

I decided to follow her as she crawls here and there.

She looks like she's on some important mission as she speed crawls away....

Even taking time to check out the different rooms one by one...

Haha.. Found a chair and decided to kneel there for a little prayer.

This photo is so funny. Taken when she was resting from all the crawling with her eyes closed. Hehe..

Enough of crawling, Joey.. Time to take some photos with Mummy...

A Day With Joey

Joey is down with fever and cold, but she has more energy than me. I wonder who's the sick one here.

But she so poor thing. Cos her nose is so stuck, she cries almost all the time and whines and whines and whines. I have to take at least 30 mins to pat her and carry her to make her fall asleep, only to have her wake up about 20 mins later. The 30 mins spent is so not worth it. Haiz..

ok, before I get labelled a whining queen, here's the usual dosage of Joey's cuteness!

Sorry that she looks so ah-soh this morning when I brought her out to get breakfast. I was worried she catch a chill, so I wrapped a towel around her shoulders. Wahahaha...

Back at home.. you see how the mood of a baby changes over a matter of seconds.

At first: All cheerful and happy. NOW, don't blink!

hahaha.. there you go.

Demure …. OR …..

Such a demure sweet little girl....

Not if you see from this angle. Check out her legs.

Physically VERY demanding

I think it's because some more new teeth are coming out soon, Joey developed a fever last night. 39 degrees! She kept waking up every hour and kept crying very loudly. Poor gal, it must be very uncomfortable for her. After taking paracetamol (is that how you spell it?? nei..), she got better. But today, she got slight fever again throughout the day. During the evening, her whole body felt really hot. Thank God the fever has subsided now.

Not only is she feeling uncomfortable, her daddy and mummy are equally poor things. I couldn't really sleep last night because I was afraid her temperature may suddenly shoot up high within minutes. Some kids get that and you know, some become mentally retarded. So, I am always very careful with fever. It can lead to many complications. So, didn't really sleep last night except the wee hours of the morning, then had to wake up for service. Both Isaiah and I felt so tired that we walked like we were floating.

Look at her on our way to service. Doesn't look like she's sick right??

She enjoyed herself playing in the new toy in the nursery. Or maybe it's not new, it's just that I've been staying in the artiste room every week instead of the nursery. Such an interesting toy! The seat slides front and back and the baby can turn to the right or to the left. The baby also steps on 4 coloured padding which makes sound when the baby steps on it. Everything on the toy lights up or makes some music when touched. Cool!

It's not all play. There were moments she sat there like a good girl listening to the songs sang by the guest singers at church today. Maybe she could recognise them! Cos the singer is from Israel and he sang many of the songs from a CD we kept playing at home. It's a CD my MIL bought back from her Israel trip. Hehe...

After service, I went back to my parents' house to have dinner with them while Isaiah met up his soccer buddies for soccer. Came home with a body of injuries. Again. But well, the price to pay for passion! Just spent 30 minutes coaxing Joey to sleep earlier on when I reached home and she woke up crying again after barely 15 minutes. More coaxing. Praise God she is sleeping again now.

Phew.. so you see, taking care of a baby is very physically demanding! Thank God I am still young.. otherwise, I really can't imagine!

By My Bedside

Joey sleeps on a mattress on the floor next to my bed now, because we cannot put her in the tiny cot anymore. She will just climb out of it within 5 seconds of putting her in. The larger cot we have is in the living room and our bedroom door is too small to move the cot in unless we take it all apart. So, ultimate solution is to let her sleep on a mattress.

This is a common sight nowadays. Joey will grab my bedsheet and climb up and stand by my bedside. If my TV is on, she will stand there and watch TV. Haha.. no joke! And she doesn't get tired leh, she will just stand there for very long until I carry her and put her back onto her mattress again. Then she will climb yet again. This goes on until she gets tired finally and I will pat her to sleep.

Watching TV..

Say 'HELLO!', baby...

See, that's her pink mattress next to my bed...
